What is your favourite DMC as far as enemies are concerned.

DMC1: Posessed puppets, Reptilian mutants, Shapeshifting, feline-like shadow enemies etc. (Where for the large part of it you have to discover the right way to defeat the enemy because you generally can't just shoot them to death idly. Possibly the most unhinged.

DMC2: Limited biblical bestiary. Lots of enemies with quite cool sounding names. Skeletons, stereotypical devil like enemies, sorcerors etc. More celebrity enemies than the original.

DMC3: Advanced biblical bestiary. Lots of enemies with a lot of variation in difficulty. The introduction of the 7 Sins, Abysses, netherworld chess pieces, lots of mythical enemies with a DMC makeover. E.g. Cerberus and Greyon. Definitely the most varied.

My fave would be DMC1. I really thought that most of the enemies especially Shadows, frosts and nobodies were brilliant.

DMC1. Creepier, they bonded better with their surroundings. Especially in the places they first appeared. It was also nice that most of them made their first appearance dramatically. They were more of a challenge. Like when you fight the Death Scythe alone, and after a while he's a regular enemy. Shadows are by far the most difficult DMC enemies when they are more than 3. The camera simply cannot help you watch out for all at the same time. I remember a place like a mountain that either Blades or Shadows appear, and I remember being able to beat the Shadows only with the help of the terrain.

DMC2 has enemies that Dante can keep on fighting forever. If the game was made by someone who demanded more difficulty there would be places with many Infested Choppers at once. Yet, almost everyone can be dealt on with just the guns. The only thing that catches your attention is that their names are almost as hard to pronounce as the places in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

DMC3 has ok enemies but no difficult ones except maybe for Hell Vanguard. Most of the others that pose threat is for annoying reasons. You simply can't hurt them until certain conditions meet. This happens with Blood Goyles, Soul Eaters, Dullahans, etc. Even for bosses like Nevan. None of them has power and real abilities that make tough to fight even though you can hit them all day, like in DMC1.
