I'm just some guy who really like Devil May Cry
this is just my own idea of a DmC game id like to see one day.
its set 200+ years after the events of Devil May Cry( and its many sequels :shifty: ) the Devil May Cry business has flourished into an all out guild. members of the guild take missions and objectives around the world fighting angels, demons and devils advocates (corrupt humans).

the protagonist is a custom made character:
either half angel, half demon, nephilum or full human. all four are balanced. for example a half demon has the ability to shape shift and is the fastest re generator. while humans learn Wicca skills and have a greater long range/ explosive arsenal.

from the beginning the player has a complete choice in weapons they pick two weapons/ skills. they pick two to start with, and gain access to more weapons as the game progresses. they equip can equip up to 8 weapons at once. using them under the same principle as DmC. as you fight you gain experience that you spend on new upgrades in a tree. so every weapon has three routes it can take ( 5 for the first main weapon) that they can access.

gameplay is very similar to that of our current DmC.
demon characters get a demon trigger, angels get an angel trigger, nephilum a nephilum trigger and humans get a psy trigger (doesnt heal but player invincible)

the main differences being in the coop mode. you can form damage combos with your allies. for example, two devil pulls tears an enemy in two. shoot an ally and they can parry the bulllets at your opponent with added power. humans are especially powerful here as they can mark enemies and the terrain allowing more moves and combos to work on them. eg mark an enemy with an explosive seal when parrying and the next hit deals double damage.

the terrain is a closed sandbox. like DMC3 but smaller, they are generated it random. players can destroy it as much as they want if they have the power to do so. dont want to solve a puzzle to access the objective through a door? just smash a hole next to the door. solved. :D . it encourages players to both split up at points and stick together and work as a team at others.

the story is dependent on their choice of race. example. for the half demon side:
the protagonist is on a routine mission where they stumble upon evidence that someone in the guild is working with the neo order. an organisation dedicated to bringing on the apocalypse and all out war between the races. which they believe will create the beast. a creature of absolute power who will destroy everything. recreating the world for the order.

if nephilim the protagonist follows the secrets behind the final battle of Dante where he finally fell against the darkness. the first demon and father of chaos. going there to pay theyre respects to the guild founder on the day of his death. the protagonist finds a cavern in limbo, there they find Dantes amulet discarded on the ground. which doesnt make sense as said amulet was said to be burried with him. they follow this lead, until they find that the entire final battle was a lie and the truth was much much darker.

there is also a multiplayer. its like a monster hunter 3 deal. you meet up in the "main" guild where you can socialise with other players, trade etc. you can go on group missions with 3 other members. create your own sub-guild and go on even more adventures. including a multiplayer coop story.

yh, so thats my idea...thoughts? how would your dream game be. how would you balance the 4 races? what kind of stories/ missions should there be? if this game DID exist what would your character be? be creative :D

i thought maybe this could be like a group project thing for fun :D

Nephilim Lover
This would actually be a game I would play if it existed. I would likely play with all four but I would start with Nephilim, the one area that seems a bit iffy is the closed of sandbox thing. It might be better if it were open world like Arkham City or Dragon's Dogma but had seperate combat zones in "dungeon" like areas perhaps.

Don't mess with a Mage, bitch.
My character, Lucan (Inferno reference) is a half demon, who's main weapons are dual dao swords (Chinese broadswords) and a Smith and Wesson .500.
He's of African American descent, with a black duster, white shirt, blue jeans, black boots, and a yin-yang medallion.

He'll be stoic and snarky.

i was thinking closed would be better as that way we could explore multiple places and coutries.

nice, a dialogue system would be epic. to balance out the races i thought perhaps demosn could shapeshift, tails, extra arms etc any thoughts??

Bro...No words...can describe how amazing this idea is. Twitter Capcom...Now!

Also I'd be a nephilim and be carrying two guns, a sword, gauntlets, a shotgun, and a scythe as my main weapons.

Would the characters have to look human? My only gripe with "create your character" games is that generally the character has to look completely human. I guess that's why I loved Skyrim and the other Elder Scrolls games: The lizard men were awesome.

i thought so, using that camera technology so it actually looked like you. but i guess with demons and angels especially you could change it up a bit etc. but in devil/angel trigger youd look like a complete monster of your custom design

Great ideas you got there.
I'm thinking... Devil May Cry MMO style of game. Have any of you guys played TERA Online? The gameplay is very typical hack'n slash, very DMC styled, so it is indeed possible to make DMC into an MMO kinda game. :p

I guess adding a meter that builds over time. Similar to games like MvC3, you can do super special versions of that move or a finisher if you build up enough meter.

What Darigion said too. A lot of games like Bayonetta, Dantes Inferno use demons but they're in human form. Having a few demons/otherworldly creatures as they really look would be nice.

For classes, I'd make each one very distinct. Combos with magic would be awesome. Using a book to send out swords and then quickly summon more for a juggle/relaunch. It would make magic far more interesting than your generic, sit back and buff other characters BS. I would easily break that typical WoW boundary and make them (more)awesome to play.

i was thinking to make it class less. after race you have full access to all kinds of abilities and what you choose to specialise in and what your using is what is improved. plus skill transferable, tired of using pistols? want a rocket launcher just transfer the points.

i also thought that instead of only weapons there could be powers, eg seals, buffers, dashes (vergil) , specia blocks (royal guard) and other things like vergils spirit blades.

Now THAT'S intuitive. Skill transfer, just like DmC.

So basically, everyone would be an Adept Rogue from .hack//GU! lol Jack of all trades, master of none?

xcept master of whatever you want. just if you ever feel like something else. you dont have to got through hourse of grinding to earn it. you just quickly shift it over and practice with your new weapon/style

Would there be an offline mode as well? I hate games like Diablo III or Dragon Age where you have to be connected to a server just to play alone...

haha like i said there are two parts. the first is the single player where you play DmC with your own custom character doing your own thing. then theres the coop and multiplayer online. plus no monthly fee :D

so whatd you pick/ race/ any ideas for missions/ story

I'd pick a half demon. He'd look like a normal guy, always wearing a hoodie that obscures his face in shadows though. When he DT's, he'd pull his hood down, revealing his human face for a second before he's covered in scales and becomes a lizard-man demon, with massive claws.

As for missions and story... Nothing. But I'm very good at coming up with enemy/boss designs. Just ask Lord of Darkness about that. XD

awesome! i like the idea of a dramatic reveal and the giant claws sound especially cool, shredding enemies left and right. . half demons seem very popular. not that i can blame you. :D
