Devil May Cry HD Collection confirmed by ESRB
The American age rating board has inadvertently confirmed HD versions of the first three Devil May Cry games, although Capcom has still yet to admit any plans to re-release them.

A Devil May Cry collection has been rumoured for months, and even turned up on a Spanish retailer website with the above boxart, but it's never been formally acknowledge by publisher Capcom.

A listing by the ESRB though has reclassified the first three PlayStation 2-only games as also for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which can only mean that either the collection is real or that Capcom intends to sell the games separately via Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network.
If not for the earlier leak we'd be tempted to believe it was the latter since retail HD collections have all been PlayStation 3 exclusives in the past, although there's no real reason why Capcom couldn't make this one multiformat.

A collection also seems most likely given that Devil May Cry 2 is awful and we can't imagine anyone wanting to by it separately. The first game is great though: a seminal roaming beat 'em-up and inspiration to the likes of God Of War.

The best in the series is the special edition of Devil May Cry 3, which features some of the most involved melee combat outside of a one-on-one fighter - as well as some great bosses and lots of protagonist Dante's over-the-top cockiness.

The original shop boxart indicates that Devil May Cry 4 is not included in the collection, although it's impossible to tell from the ESRB website as it was already an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game.

Given that it's been since eclipsed by PlatinumGames' Bayonetta (which was by the same original creator) Capcom has decided to reboot Devil May Cry with a controversial new game by Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory.

Little has been seen of ' DmC ' in public since it was first announced, although apparently it's still due to be released next year.

Whoever wrote that article has his personal opinion painted all over it. Not very pro.

But yes, the confirmation was already posted in the DmC forum, but I guess it fits better in general chat, since it IS about the first three games getting a HD-boost.

Yeah, the box art is fake. Was stated some time ago. It just seems like they reused it for this article.
