Yeah, I didn't feel like searching if anyone had already posted this, so, here you go:

And, on a totally unrelated topic, Taken 2!

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/6372-Taken-2

I'm sorry, but after seeing two of my favorite franchises on my second favorite site (dmc.org is my first favorite, please don't ban because of this thread. :'() I just had to put both here.

Edit: back on topic

It seems that the video just can't let go of the fact that hair is no longer an issue for most people and just seems to be paying attention to the youtube trollers who must, in every released trailer, hate the the game with all their might by hitting the dislike button and ranting about how it isn't "faithful to the original".

This, unlike the "hair" complaints, is the one comment that cannot be taken away from them. Because it actually has a valid point. But that's the reason for DmC existance--it's to be different and explore new ground. If it was "faithful to the original" (by the "skeptics" definition, anyway) then, it really wouldn't be able to explore new ideas in action control schemes and storytelling, giving us the same re-heated meal we've already been served not only by Devil May Cry, but by other action series as well. "Different" is a necessity, in this case.

However, there are is a large fanbase out there that is actually for the game, so, this is more or less a non-issue at this point. There will be enough people out there who will recognize and appreciate DmC for what it is: A new way of delivering an action experience.

I don't really understand how the nay-sayers can still auto-click dislike on any DmC-related YouTube video, whilst mindlessly spouting how it isn't true or faithful to the original.

It's still Dante.

He's a one-liner throwing smartass. He's stylish. He has E&I. He has Rebellion. Sparda is his father. Eva is his mother. Vergil is his brother. He slays demons. He sports a red and black colour palette. He faces outrageous bosses. And his wallet is still full of red orbs.

If this isn't Devil May Cry, I don't know what is.

Well, sorry to say, then you don't know. While the features of DMC is still in the reboot, it still has many difference from past that really places it as its own game.

The new Dante, for example, is still majorly different from the past Dantes. His mother is different from the past Dantes' mother, his brother different from the past Dantes' brothers. So comparing this Dante to the new Dante (for purposes of trying to find similarities) is like comparing a melon and a watermelon. Both are melons but one is far different from the other.

No offence, but what you've said is quite obvious. Of course things are different; that's the point of a reboot or re-imagining.

My initial point was that they're using the same ingredients to make a different pie.

It's a bit sad actually...If it's called Devil May Cry, then it IS Devil May Cry. End of story.

As the court can easily view, as long as the game carries the title of Devil may Cry, it does not matter wither or not the "m" is lowercase or not. thus disproving your objectionable argument.

I play my "Grammar Nazi" card in attack, thus sending your valid point to the GRAVE for misspelling the word "Whether".

I play one card face down and end my turn.

And yes, we did just go from Phoenix Wright to Yugioh

My initial point was that they're using the same ingredients to make a different pie.

That's the point that I'm disagreeing with. They're changing up the recipe and using different ingredients making a (gameplay- wise) much sweeter pie.
