Square-Enix announced today that their upcoming RPG, Dungeon Siege III, is scheduled for release in North America on May 24th, 2011 and then three days later in Europe and other PAL territories on May 27th. PAL territories will also be able to pre-order a special limited edition of the game that comes with four unique in-game items.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Dungeon Siege III is a fast-paced action role-playing game. Players assume the role of one of four legionnaires in the crumbling kingdom of Ehb. You can fight alongside up to three friends with seamless drop in/ drop out co-op multiplayer or alone with computer-controlled allies.
“With Dungeon Siege III we are bringing the rich world and lore of Ehb to an all new audience,” said Ned Browning, Brand Manager at Square Enix in an official press release. “The depth of story and wealth of characters and classes will take players on an incredible journey whether in singleplayer or with up to three friends online.”
Previous games in the series were generally well received with aggregate review scores in the 80's on PC. Dungeon Siege III will be the first available on next-gen consoles, appearing on both Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as PC.
