DmcJACKPOT
Let's rock!
I read some of them and it's pretty good
yeah, but I'm not just talking about games onlyIt's pretty far out but you could hire a couple of fanfic writers to do the games but they might not know how to write a game.
Yeah, you have to write it in script format. And when I tried it some time back I can tell you it's a lot different from writing a fic, because you have to focus more on telling the story visually than writing input on the character's thoughts and what not; also visually telling a story from reading one, both have their advantages and limitations. So for example in a film you can get away more with visual jokes, where with in a book, you might get more wit in a line from reading the character’s narration/description of the moment from their perspective. It's pretty far out but you could hire a couple of fanfic writers to do the games but they might not know how to write a game.
most companies dont read fanfics since its easier to avoid getting sued for stealing ideas.
plus they rather hire writers that have proved themselves with their own stories.
and they there is no easy way to shift throught the bulk of fanfics.
They could do a contest and judge based on those entries.Yep, I can definitely agree with that lol. Going through fanfiction is like trying to find needles in a massive haystack riddled in landmines and pie slappers. Why go to all that effort when you can just hire qualified people? (wow, those guys at The Simpson must've been really bored :lol
I wouldnt call any of the spin-off materials fanfics because they are work for hire gigs. Any discrepancies or lack of connection between the two was due their own lack of iniatitive. They used a scene from the DMC3 manga, which was written by someone else, and although considered canon I don't think the writing and Alice storyline had much to do with the CAPCOM writers/directors of the series. A lot of people consider it a glorified doujin or fanfic. Maybe CAPCOM do scour fanfictions for ideas anyway, they would just not admit it.
