They most probably just rated the story and character dialogue. The only thing NT is doing right now is polishing the game play so they might have sent ESRB an early build of the game.

From what I heard during Comic Com the game is done and they were working on fine tuning.
The game was scheduled to be released this year, I don't think they changed the date because of production set backs but rather because Capcom changed it for a more sutable release. It's not eve rare for a game to be released long after completion, it's one of those things where companies delay their releases because numbers show that the game will sell better on said times of the year.
At this point they should be able to make any number of drastic changes and additions considering their time cushion.

I can see people on their facebook page already complaining about nudity and sexual content, sigh.
We don't even know how sexual content and nudity will be used in the game, people read things out of context and automatically get upset with them. They see nudity and sexual content and automatically think bad things, when it could easily be for story related reasons and it can be tastefully done.
If you want to play a game where nudity and sexual content is not tastefully done play God of War.

Sometimes NA rating system is unfair in some games but well If franchise is one with M rating with all games, and if even game have none of M cathegory in game they will still rate it M as game is from M rated series. I EU I once laughed as I followed EU trailers of one of mine loved games when they initally rated it +16, when suddenly changed to + 18 without reason.

I think I love that list lol. Makes me more curious about what will be in the game. I think Dante' being nude at the start pretty much stamped that nudity one on there straight away.

Dante getting dressed in mid air is probably all of the nudity in the game and the only other thing that we didn't know was going to be there was the drug reference.
