Stylish Nero
We Dem Boys!!
Upon seeing Dante's moveset and abilities thus far I can already see some crazy combos and stylish tricks I can pull off plus with DmC's more accessible and upgraded gameplay mechanics over the past DMC games I see great potential in this game. Yeah before this I made thread analyzing DmC's tactical aspects now I'm listing its stylish and combo crazy aspects.
Like playing DMC4 all you have to do is use your imagination and evaluate your abilities and weapon's moveset instead of playing the game like a noob....after watching so much true style and combo mad vids it gave me ideas of how I can abuse the simple gameplay mechanics to do things the developers never really intended for that purpose like using Nero's Shuffle or was it Calibur for Nero to dash through the air like his own personal Sky Star but with weapons like Lucifer and Yamato creativity seemed almost endless.
An simple example I did in DMC4
One simple combo I pulled off was that I pinned my enemy with a series of Lucifer pikes, then throws Rebellion at him so its hitting a series of spinning blade strikes (forgot what that move was called), then switched the Darkslayer detonated the pikes and pulled off that Darkslayer multi-slash move then switched to Gunslinger and did that Boomerang thing taunt then use Gilgamesh's Kick 13 then Staright his a$$ when he came falling down then DTs and uses Stinger and then Million Stab but switched to SwordMaster during the Million Stab animation and pulled off Dance Macabre as my finisher.
SSS that b*tch. All that is needed is a plan of what you want to do and how you plan to do it I even took notes and wrote down the commands (gotta get it memorized) and practice it til I got it right......took me 10 bloody hours.
What was I doing again?
Oh yes DmC....with Dante's abilities being a cross of old Dante and Nero with some stuff removed (Buster, RoyalGuard, and Exceed) and some new stuff added. Dante's new weapons having new weapon features that separates it from the past weapons even E&I has a new move (Rising Rainstorm) that change the tide of how you can do combos.
Here is what I'm thinking I want or can do with Dante's current moveset (hopefully there is plenty more weapons and moves you can get in the final version). Note I'm just listing quick and simple tricks nothing too convoluted like what Brea or Dango does something simple like using Guard to cancel attack animations or using the rose from Lucifer to keep enemies in the air (DMC4).
1) Raking Up: By using Osiris's special move (B/O button) Rake which scoops up enemies below Dante and time it perfectly with jump step/jump cancel and spam it over and over I can jump off an enemy and time it quickly enough to rake them up and do this constantly til I get high enough or til I get bored or screw up plus unlike Angel Uppercut I can only lift one enemy into the air while Rake can scoop up multiple nearby enemies plus the jump cancel makes follow up animations flow more quickly.
2) Did You Fall From Heaven Cause Your Dead: Use Angel Lift on a land or maybe aerial enemy and send them flying with an Angel Uppercut and when they come crashing down knock em up or keep them from hitting the ground using Prop and the Shredder, Shotgun them, pulling off a Rising Rainstorm, juggle them for how long you want or just end it by skipping to pulling off a Rainstorm and punching them down with Showdown and finish it with Eryx's Stomp,. the Demon Stomp (if that is still in that game because it seems Eryx's demon stomp completely replaced it but anyway), High Time, or Tremor him (but that might just bring him back to the air if you want to continue the combo chaining).
3) Zip lining (I can't think of another name): If you like zipping around the place like your freaking SpiderMan (I know I do) here is a combo for you. Its simple as demon pulling and using demon kick to send your opponent flying them Angel Lift to them to zip up to them angel uppercut then use demon grapple to pull them in and kick them then angel lift and use either E&I or Revenant to juggle them then demon grapple a close up opponent (sounds weird but in DMC4 Nero's Devil Bringer can do it) then kick them away and angel lift. Then use the Angel Glide cancellation feature to go to any side of your opponent (so you won't be knocking your opponent in a linear path. So anyway from that you do this: demon grapple kick, angel lift up to enemy, keep them in the air using your guns (E&I for speed or Revenant to be easier) and all the while angel gliding or moving to another side of your enemy, and the demon grapple and kick, and angel lift and from there just keep repeating the process as quickly and responsively as possible until you find yourself whacking your opponent around the place in midair like something from DragonBall Z or you want to end the process by adding a big finisher. Maybe applying Jump Cancel can make the animation and process fly more quickly and smoothly. I recommend using Angel Lift since the animation is much more quickly than the demon grapple one and the demon grapple animation is almost unnoticeable at close range plus you really need demon grapple for the Kicker attack. Maybe if their is a quick one step attack that can knock an in air opponent away we wouldn't need the demon grapple. Actually aerial dodge is more effective (and quick) for shifting your position on the opponent than angel glide since it seems to have a swiftly movement animation than angel glide.
4) (I call this one) Showtime: When there is a large group of enemies I launch the closest one in the air and pull off a quick aerial combo with Rebellion or just skip all that and give him the boot and send him flying and use Drop (which is the aerial Tremor) to launch the other enemies them into the air so the first poor bloke I sent flying is grouped with them in the air then use Angel Lift to go near the helpless fools stuck in the air and pull off a bunch of Osiris combos and just go nuts with it but not too much or else they'll die before I can finish what I wanted to do. Then then bring them down with High Time send them flying again with Tremor and finish it with Overdrive as they land.
5) Lucky Streak: I dash up to a group of enemies using Osiris's Streak move then switch to Rebellion to pull of some moves but allow for enemy to be behind me while I beat the tard out of one or maybe two-three blokes with controlled attacks swapping between mid-combo Rebellion and Eryx for devastatingly epic combos then when that guy behind me is done scratching his balls he attacks me and pull off a Demon Dodge so I can get to a position where I can hit them all with demonic powered up Tremor or maybe Overdrive if the demon dodge power-up doesn't only apply to demon weapons.
6) JACKPOT: I'll keep this simple since I've been at this for hours. You fire off a fully charged Rico-Shot in a group of nearby enemies and while they being hit by a ricocheting bullets hit them with a Overdrive. This can work as a follow up for Lucky Streak or anything....its kept simple so anyone can improve it in anyway.
Yeah that is all I'm going to list with DmC's so far limited moveset there is more I can add with DmC's moveset thus far but I can speculate more when more moves and weapons are shown.
However, I'm not so sure if this game running at 30 fps or the lack of lock-on can handle it but since everything seems to be camera orientated so I guess it'll require a lot of camera work on our part unlike before press one button to focus on your target or targets but hey lets speculate and you can even list your own combo list of ideas you got for this game or ones you pulled off playing DMC3 & DMC4.
