All right. I am not sure if this has been done, but this theard will be a friendly debate on DmC. Explain your postion, your likes/dislikes and anything else on your mind about it. But please keep in mind that there are people who enjoys the game and there are people who dislikes the game, so please try to be considerate of others. (this thread is so going to get locked *sighs*):/

I was skeptical on the game at first because of how controversial one trailer was....but I was intrigued on the direction of the game of how more "Darker, Mature, and Serious" it was going to be...I didn't care for it at all but the curiosity was there....what really killed it though were all the interviews that Tameem and his partner in crime Alex Jones were in....and those were really terrible...and not once in any interview did Hideaki Itsuno appear...odd cause he is supposeably working close with it.....but then the complete disregard for the old fanbase and trashing the series thinking that they were going to make it way better....was funny when they said the game came out 10 to 12 years ago when the 10 anniversary hasn't even passed....but I was intrigued with the Dark and Mature vibe that Tameem kept talking about though...even though I don't consider the game a DMC game anymore....the idea itself was pretty good....but little by little what they released got worst and worst...Unreal Engine...consider major bugs...talking from a ps3 fangirl's perspective....the combat....and so far what the rumored story that has been revealed...all have been a real freaking let down....then saying how the game isn't going to be over the top, then I thought to myself...then what is the point of making the game if it isn't going to be over the top....

Its just kept getting worst and worst that know I don't see anything good about the game...the graphics aren't up to scale even though they are using unreal engine....which is really confusing and the whole feel to the game has a major color red influence..... Just to make the fans like it...they had to scrap alot of stuff.... and people still don't like it.....

I think it's going great. Still worried about the difficulty...I don't want to play an easy Devil May Cry game. I HATE playing easy games, so if this game can at least give me some challenge, I'll be good. Graphics look top notch. Story sounds interesting. Satire sounds like it'll be hilarious. Overall, I really like the direction this game is going.

I really like the direction. Seeing how NT is developing it, the story will most likely be good. The enemies look well designed as well. I hope it has great boss battles too.

When it was first announced back in 2010, I was ****ed off about it. He looked like a drug addict teen with an emo personality. Then I looked at the game from a regular gamers perspective, and saw this game could be interesting. Tameen insulting Dante didn't affect me at all. It's his opinion and I agree with some of it. Unreal Engine and this talk of engines wasn't even that big until Tameen talked about it. Then the 2011 E3 trailer came and I was automatically hooked on it. Even saying Dante was half Angel now only made me want it more. Gamescom was the deal breaker for me. The fight, Escape, and Secret Area trailers made me totally want this game. And now in 2012, I'm totally liking this game and want it SOOOOO bad! Ninja Theory is actually an insperation to me;

Even when the odds are against you, go forward and strike with full force. Prove them wrong and nothing will stop you.^_^

I never really played that Devil may cry so much, i played it occasionally but never delved into it like you guys. Back in 2010 I played DMC 4 and i was like "okay maybe i should try out the others" so i played DMC 3 thought i was cool and then i was intrigued if there were any sequels. I saw DmC and i liked it, i'm not gonna lie, it caught my attention. I liked the ideas they presented afterwords and i was like "no shiiieeet this looks like it could go pretty well". So yeah if their intention was to attract some new interest they got me lol.

Given that they've outright said they'll start taking advice now that the game's in a nearly-final build, I think they'll take heed to the criticism as far as difficulty and physics go.

When the game first came out, I was apathetic. I knew nothing about DMC, and it was just out of my way to rage as hard as everyone on earth was.
Like DM2010, I got hooked on the E3 trailer and did loads of research on the canon DMC universe and DMC mechanics after that.

Despite the 30fps issue, the game has made bounds since then, both in terms of character design and gameplay. I can't wait to see it actually become a fun game.

I've explained my opinion on the 30 FPS thing, and I'd rather not repeat it. It's not an issue, trust me.

Isn't that why we have the option to play it on easy/normal/hard difficulty, so we can match it the way we like to play it? I like to build my way up through the difficulties as I get better at the game instead of starting on the extremely hard difficulty.

@Dante47 and DM2010,
Thanks guys.
I was planning on asking how high FPS is useful for 2-D fighting games like Guilty Gear or Skullgirls (where characters seem to have 24 frames of animation at most), but not for DmC, which has 30.
It seems that it's not. As long as control input is read at 60...

I was going to start a thread asking that very question, but I was sort of afraid of being doused in flames or laughed at for missing something...

Yeah, I didn't know anything about framerate or the Adventure Game Engine vs. the Fighting Game Engine before this game either.

you too huh? don't worry i feel your pain man...

Also, the gameplay we've seen is obviously on Easy (or Human) difficulty. In DMC4, Human and Demon Hunter or drastically different in terms of difficulty.

Yeah, and in DMC3 on easy mode, they have auto-mode where some of the more difficult moves to do are done for you. Something for beginners of DMC.

Remember DMC 2? Yeaaah.......But let's see, right? I'll get the game regardless!

Yup this game for sure needs to be released. And have plenty of difficulties. I hate Heaven and Hell mode (waste of time) and when playing easy mode, the auto attacks is pretty useless and it doesn;t make anyone feel good because they are not doing anything. I hated automatic, but sometimes i just wanted to practice combos. meh. human was fine though.
As long as there's a Bloody Palace (not dmc4 palace) or the secret levels have some sort of gauntlet missions, i'll be more than happy

I initially liked the trailer because it was cool and later on I liked it because it seemed to returned Dante to his DMC3 roots which I thought was the right direction. Watching Young Dante figure out what to do with his new job is more interesting than watching Dante be whored out and boring like he was in 4 and the anime.

Since I came in with 3, I was more ambivalent towards rebooting as 3 was the only story i liked. But in between the two years, I stated reading Marvel and Dc and those guys seem to know how to make complicated continuity work. And DC or Marvel will always be more complicated than DMC, hell even kingdom hearts is more complicated than DMC.

plus i thought it would have been a better show of NT writing's skills to see them make sense of the contuinty and move it forward than rebooting from scratch.

other than that, there is certain things i dislike like the change in parentage and look plus the DT. So im hoping this game can be as awesome as i think it can.

I have liked from what i have seen so far.However,i can't still fully appreciate it because i still didn't even played it.
If it gives me the feeling of joy,excitement and fun like DMC3 was,then sure i will fully love the game.But for now....................
