Hello I'm new here, and thought I'd post a thread to discuss various Devil May Cry theories, whether they be back story, Nero's possessing of Sparda's blood, the future of the series, or whatever else, so long as the theories are logical and accompanied with a proper explanation. I like to remain open minded to all possibilities.
Now, as to the theories concerning Nero, I myself believe that he was born human; not the son of Vergil, and also that he was not born with the Devil Bringer. Nero's arm is the only part of his body that holds demonic power, while the rest of his body is just as a human. This is inconsistent with all the other humanoid demons or partial demons in the series, where their bodies are uniform, and appear completely human.
Furthermore, the origin of his arm is shrouded in mystery, and just about the only hint about it's creation and/or manifestation is this quote from DMC4: "From that day forth, my arm changed and a voice echoed 'Power. Give me more power."
I would have to say that that 'echoing voice' most closely resembles Vergil out of any other character so far introduced, given his lust for power in DMC3. This would also explain how the Yamato reacted to Nero, as well as his possessing of "Sparda's blood".
The Devil Bringer no doubt has something to do with Vergil. My theory is that it is somehow where Vergil's soul, or part of his soul, currently resides. Further supporting that theory, as well as the theory that Nero himself does not have demon blood, is that he does not transform when using the Devil Trigger, as all the other playable characters have throughout the series. Instead, an oversoul appears, which closely resembles Vergil as Nelo Angelo.
Now the part most subject to flaw in my theory is how the Devil Bringer came to be. This could have happened in many different ways, whether it be Vergils soul entering his arm through wound like a parasite, or if it's some strange kind of limited possession, or even demonic transference.
But now I would like to hear theories any of you would like to share. Or even if you want to point out holes in my theory, go ahead.
