Remember this? Ok everyone with all the info we know about DmC, let's compare what we know with this early trailer. What has changed? How will the scenes in this trailer correspond with the info we know now? It time to go back to the beginning, let the fighting...I mean discussions BEGIN!!!

Well Dante is half angel and raised by demons trying to brainwash him.

The city is demonically influenced and trying to kill him.

I also heard from some Japanese interview, though I can't remember where, that the demons are trying to push him to some goal. They may be leading him on, though he doesn't know it. Like, they need him.

Also, do not forget the initial game description said he was '...spurned into action by a trusted relation'.... Unless they made up a whole new relative... Sparda's dead. Eva's dead... I foresee Vergil.

"Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost."

DmC Dante's hair is a bit shorter from this trailer. His coat is longer with a hood on it. He's wearing boots instead of shoes and skinnier jeans. He also has a red medallion (liked the other necklaces more.) and his guns look more futuristicly demonic, and that sword is more like an Indian tribe sword. He also has STOPPED SMOKING!:D Maybe. Also, From what I've heard DmC Dante's looking pretty handsome to a few girls. Like in Deviantart.

Well, this trailer made it seem like he went through a rush of pain at random amounts of time.
Maybe there's a device implanted in his head later in the game, buuuut most of the ideas from the trailer aside from the enemies and the morphy weapon have been re-vamped or thrown out.
He doesn't smoke in any of the recent screenshots or art, his eye color doesn't change based on his stance, the trailer's not showing the "living city", etc.

Well the escape trailer did show it changing to crush Dante.

First trailer was the best IMO.
It seems that NT abandoned the whole "psycho evaluation" idea.
This game will be "PEGI 8" before you know it.
Like DragonMaster2010 said they made him look more appealing to girls.

I'm also a little disappointed in NT abandoning the dark and gritty setting. The trailer makes it look, like the whole thing with the twisting environment wasn't planned from the beginning, but integrated as they went.
I liked smoking Dante a lot. I couldn't even understand that people would dislike this new take on the series. I was genuinely confused.
Well, the new direction they are taking looks good to me, but so did their initial sketch.

I really hope not! The psycho stuff was awesome and I hope Ninja Theory sticks to it.

Maybe I'm the only one who noticed the very improved cinematography and camera movement. Also the mood lighting was impeccable. The physics of the scene were very realistic and the choreography looked natural and improvised like a real fight. The energy of the scene was very kinetic and aggressive. It built to a climax that ended in the character name reveal. Then Dante descends out of sight with a cocky smile. In all, it is the best and most solid piece of action cinema that Ninja Theory has produced so far, very worthy of the DMC franchise and I look forward to even better scenes in-game.

Well lets see...

1. His very skeletal look in the trailer has been replaced with a much more muscular body.
2. No sign of Dante being a smoker yet. (though I really like that idea)
3. Face structure looks a tad different.
4. Hair style redesigned.
5. His jacket differs in his new look than in this trailer.
6. Dante doesn't appear to be psychotic in newer appearances. (but that would be awesome)
7. No news on if you can really throw things like cars onto enemies.

Personally, I loved the things the 2010 trailer presented and I hope the ideas they showed will stay in the game.

I haven't watched that trailer in a while, looking back on it you can see a lot has changed. The atmosphere is one of them, that trailer makes it seem really dark and gritty; which I loved.
  • Dante doesn't look beat up anymore- seriously I really would've liked to see Dante, a half demon, appear more human.
  • His clothing has changed- the first trailer seemed like he was wearing leather everything, and he was wearing a jacket. Now they seem to have made him look more like original Dante: a longer coat, boots, the amulet.
  • We haven't seen him smoke since that trailer, so it may be possible that NT scrapped that.
  • His voice seems to have change as well, in that trailer he sounds more gruff, but now he sound like a regular teenager/young adult.
