So, I had an idea for a DLC or expansion pack for DmC and it's potential future sequels. Two of them actually.
The first, Sparda's Downfall. Since it seems to be a reoccurring theme of our heroes falling at great heights and then later emerging from the abyss, unveiling what they've emerged into too ultimately. This fall is of the Legendary Dark Knight and the part he played in a forbidden love with a holy angel. The story would depict a far more archaic demon underworld, one that hasn't yet grasped our world, the human world. We see Sparda rise through the ranks of the demon hoards alongside his blood brother, Mundus. Their relationship starts off showing how much they trust one another, similar to Dante and Vergil's bond, though this one has lasted for many more years. The story will also show how Sparda met Eva and eventually fell in love. I myself haven't thought it out how they meet, but the trust between Sparda and the other demons disintegrates before his very eyes. It ends climatically with Sparda and Mundus facing off, before Sparda flees after a sort-of-victory, leaving the demon kingdom behind. We will also see his eventual capture and torture, but more importantly, his banishment and hint at a future return.
Eva's Downfall, the second of these DLC's is far more tragic and forlorn. I had in mind that Sparda's DLC story would involve more action and heavy emphasis on combat. However, I had trouble coming up with gameplay scenarios for Eva, since I know absolutely nothing of how angels function in DmC. But, if NT were to develop this, maybe they could shed some light on how the angels work and live, and also how they contrast with the cruel, merciless demons. Unlike the feeling of despair and distrust that Sparda encounters with the demons, maybe Eva is greeted with comfort and warmness. I'd also enjoy if it illustrated the interactions with her close son Dante, and also shed some light on how Vergil acted in his youth. Maybe Vergil was more his father's son, and Dante was closer to his mom, which we see in the finale of DmC. Overall, it would complete with Eva's unfortunate and brutal demise, witnessed of course by a young Dante.
So yeah. Fill in anything you'd like to see in a DLC like this, or if you'd handle it differently.
Peace.
