I think this could really work as proven in God of War. but much better of course because its devil may cry. just have it to where you and a buddy create a character and choose your weapons.
+melee weapons could have the same move sets as past games but have multiple skins to choose your own style. so swords, gauntlets, scythes, axes, etc........
+same with guns but with a wider variety. shotguns, pistols, rifles, etc.......
+create a character would have you the player choose everything from hair color, clothes, shoes and so on.
+ the biggest difference would be that players would have to choose to be half human, half demon, or be half angel, half human.
-half demons lack speed but can perform small evades, do more damage and have a bigger health bar.
-half angels have less health and do a little less damage, but have double jump, can evade much further and attack at a faster speed.
