Hmm, the game already has a lock on for ranged weapons, Dante will switch targets with the right stick, and if you want to grab a certain enemy in the air, you can toggle while shooting ebony and ivory or any other gun and once you have the target you want, then do demon pull or angel pull.

Although, your best bet is actually to jump in the air and point the stick towards an enemy and use calibur. Calibur is like a lock on missile attack for aerial targets.
