With regards to fan fictions on this site (and yes, I'll do the admin bit seeing as I have no problem with being the unpopular one here :lol
I think we need to remember that there are younger audiences around and although many of them are probably more likely to rave about sexually explicit stuff than others, it's a general safety barrier to make sure we don't get too graphic.
Think of it as: "If I had a kid (and by kid I do include up to about 13/14 years in this instance, I'm afraid - no offence you guys), would I be happy for them to read about naked women/men and explicit descriptions of their anatomy, graphic sexual acts and the use of sex as a tool for manipulation?" It's pretty fair to say that you probably wouldn't be happy about that...
Whilst we have many young teens here who claim to be emotionally mature, there are many who are not and it would be unwise to allow them immediate access to material that they may not be able to fully appreciate/understand for what it is. Sounds extreme, but it is part of the rules here and they are in place for the protection and enjoyment of everyone. We have no age limits here, therefore we do need to be careful of the content posted - otherwise, I may as well allow all the porn spam bots free reign too :lol:
Dalkin, you're not an idiot, so I trust your judgement - if in doubt, send one of the staff a pm with an excerpt of your most explicit work within the fan fic and they can tell you whether it's appropriate for these boards or not. If it isn't, please post a link so people can enjoy your work - I know it's a pain to have to post elsewhere and then make a link here for others to read it, but it just keeps our boards within the rules and you are able to allow your friends here to view your story in a more appropriate setting.
