DmC Enemies Thus Far

Stylish Nero

We Dem Boys!!
Okay a thread listing all the enemies shown in DmC thus far and how they compare or relate to past DMC enemies.

Firstly the Drones, these guys come in so many different types like your standard starter enemy in DMC & well other games and vary based on what type of modern day weapon they use.

Okay you got the Machete Drone, their is one that carries bat or spikey club like weapon, the Chainsaw Drone, and the Shield Drone.

Okay the Machete Drone appears to be the easiest and first enemy you encounter and so goes for the club drone. They're easy and even take a while to hit you after raising their arms just like those Hells in DMC3.The Chainsaw Drone appears to be the most formidable or threatening of all the starter Drones for its chainsaw attack does pretty gruesome damage with a very painful hit animation>_<. It also seems when they charge or rush into you they glow reddish yellow and appears invincible but after doing so appears open.

The Shield Drone appears confusing but it seems to have Alto Angelo type qualities such as using its shield to counter and hurt you if you hit it....I might be wrong but they don't only block but do strike I guess that is a good quality. The Shield Drone comes in colors like a red Shield Drone appears to be demonic so only demon attacks can pierce its shield and leave it open to attack. I haven't seen a Blue Shield Drone yet. Another to arm a Shield Drone is to attack it exactly the moment it is about to attack.

There also appears to be Flying Drones,. which some say(like myself) look like harpies....they're just a standard Machete Drone but "check it out, it got wings". Overall score of the Drone type enemies 1 by 1 they're easy as hell for any player but in large packs they can be quite troublesome especially if you have Shield Drones and Chainsaw Drones together and a lot of them. Lets compare them to past DMC enemies...if anything they're leagued with the Marionettes(even the Bloodi Mari) of DMC1, those dogs/apes no those metal cage things from DMC2, the Hells of DMC3, and Scarecrows of DMC4. However due to their large variety they're like the Hells.

The Stingers those flying Cherubs who can shoot arrows at you...me personally I think those enemies would be more of a pain or more challenging if they didn't had those lock-on arrows on you...you can easily tell when they're about to shoot you. Take that out and you got average annoying enemies and also the fact they can fly doesn't make them less easier since in DmC you can easily pull in and be pulled into enemies kinda like how Nero can pull in enemies which made him rather overpowered to use. However you gotta pull off their shields to even harm them.....that is all okay done...but I do kinda see if you demon pull them they appear to be resisting the pulling and is only pulled halfway. Their overall score, meh...they would be more formidable(and annoying) opponents if they take out their lock-on indicator. They're like those other demonic cherubs from DMC2 and appears to be just as easy well except those DMC2 cherubs don't have shields and guns kill everything factor of DMC2 isn't in DmC or the Enigmas of DMC3.

Then there is the Tank(some call it the Tank Drone) which is rather big and heavy and unlike past DmC enemies can't be lifted into the air unless with Eryx & Devil Trigger. They're the toughest and strongest enemy so far and can't be well phased by regular attacks but all they do is charge at you and the best way to take down is to make them hit the wall by charging into it and as seen in the Comic Con playthrough use demon pull to bring them down but Gamescon it appears if you angel lift into their weakspot Angel attacks can harm them....I don't know why not look it up or something. Guns appear to ricochet of their shells but Arbiter appears to be able to harm it pretty well. I don't remember much about this enemy since he is shown the least but overall score....I rank him in the same league as the Mega Scarecrow from DMC4 but say he is like the Hell Vanguard from DMC3 of DmC since you mainly fight him alone(but the Hell Vanguard was much more harder) but if you throw in like 2-3 more of those Tanks at once they can prove to be a hard challenge.

There are the Fire Drones & Ice Drones(their names are still unknown). They move and attack in regular intervals like the regular Drones but have a more large array of attacks and have elemental abilities as well. The Fire Drone can swing its hot blade and even burn/cinder the ground around it(but it seems to have did nothing in the Gamescon trailer when Dante was standing on the burned floor maybe it has something to do with Dante having Eryx equipped) and then their is the Ice Drones which swings their cold blade and send out a ice move similar to one of Cerberus's moves and if hit the player is frozen. They're kinda like Frosts but less moves I mean the Frosts of DMC & DMC4 can teleport, swing around their giant ice claws, shoot ice shards that freezes you, and do a smash attack that can send out semi-large waves of ice as well as encase itself in ice to heal or repair its damage parts. These guys are no different from the past DmC enemies which are like one trick ponies....they do like 2 moves....but the guy who played the game seemed to have a lot of trouble with them or they were kicking his ass pretty good so even they have a very limited moveset at least as a pair they put up a decent challenge...the Frosts in DMC killed me a fair share of times and the Frosts in DMC4 were in fact well kinda easy for me. As for ranking...I put them on the same league as the Frosts from DMC4 not DMC1 and that fire dog from DMC4 which as pretty easy but do it moving around a lot it was rather hard to hit it.

Lastly there is the Rages.

3-620x.jpg

The Rages are the most competent and most challenging enemies thus far because they're not some other Drone variant. They're quite agile and move around a lot. Apparently they come in pairs and if you kill one the other one gets stronger. They move pretty fast and regular attacks don't phase them as much as past DmC enemies well not as much as the Tank but they can still be launched by regular means. They have the most diverse moveset thus far ranging from basic claw slashes, shooting spikes(I think), and even its Sonic Spin move. I think they even glow yellow...but I think that is when you kill one Rage. Shooting them can temporarily blind them. The professional play tester who has been playing this game for good enough time and knows everything about it was even killed by these Rages...although he needed one more hit. These Rages are more competent/challenging than all DMC2 enemies and rival pretty leveled DMC enemies granted they're no Blitz, Bianco Angelo, and Hell Vanguard but I say they rival the Alto Angelos of DMC4 since they come in pairs and are actually more troublesome in pairs and even leagues with those Abyss(bloody hell) demons of DMC3 probably even the Fallen too if they had a better defense.

I think this list is pretty good so far plus these are the demons showed up to Mission 7 and that is pretty good list hopefully after the Night Club stage(which is apparently halfway through the game) they start dishing out some new more challenging enemies that come in leagues with the Blitz, Bianco Angelo, Hell Vangaurd, the Fallen, the Nobodies, and the Shadow. The enemies so far are in fact better than DMC2 enemies IMO.

I know that there aren't pictures for all of them but you should those that are available.

You forgot the Baby Rages. But so good so far.

I remember seeing some concept art for some of the drone enemies somewhere on the net before. But, as for the others, I guess you will have to do with screen shots.

I still don't get the point of the baby Rages.

In the comic con video, they didn't do anything. I guess they eventually evolve into Rages, if you take too time dealing with them...

adds a lil depth to the universe, demons are born and die. not a lot but its subtle enough that you dont notice but straight forward enough that the meaning is shown. also large crowds of demons add a reason for crowd control. not to mention how taxing a bunch of enemies that fight you in packs. (i asume they do more on higher levels of difficulty)

given light of the fact that these demons grow i wanna know if the stingers grow or evolve. i mean thet ARE babies so maybe they grow to become more like those fallen things in DMC3

I think those harpy/flying drone things shown in the Night Club stage appears to be Stinger evolutions or something....I mean they both fly and the Stingers have bluish green wings while those harpies have reddish wings and too shot something at you.

good list and i think the statue in the club level will be lilith's true form

That is what YOU think.....I don't have a certain opinion but whatever Lilith turns out to be it better be awesome and badass....well at least close and offer some challenge and is an awesome boss fight because....Bob Barbas looks easy as hell despite having a pretty neat design and pretty interesting and unique boss fight sequence. Poison appears to be a challenging boss or at least puts up a more hard challenge than Bob.....but I kinda hate her design and the boss fight just seems "take down this giant monster" but the extra factors like pull out her wires before she regains her health, not falling and even her whole area damaging attacks to allow players to fly off the field to the next platform, and the last part of the fight makes it a new experience in the DMC franchise.

God, I hope we can kill Lilith in the game, though I'm sure she won't be killed in the night club stage...

The whole demon child is gonna be important.

Anyway Tameem said there will be giant boss fights like the Poison one and one on one type boss fights(Nero Vs Dante, Dante Vs Vergil, & Dante/Lucia Vs Arius type boss fights).

Hopefully Lilith is one of those one on one regular sized opponent boss fights.

Hey TC, you forgot to state that the cherubs are capable of throwing bombs. I saw them do that in the gametrailers gamescom demo.

2:40

Okay never seem them before they look like the Cherubs with the bow and arrow but more grown up.

Hmmm....Overturn does look a bit more interesting and the enemies/platforming now seems a bit more challenging.

Awesome, and I was just viewing this as well.
