I have an idea that I hope you all like too.

The DMC/DmC Ultimate Combo Challenge!

Here's how it works, post a video of your best combo from any Devil May Cry game. Then, someone else will have to post a video of themselves replicating your combo as closely as possible. Then they can share their own combo for other people to replicate. Basically, you can't post your own combo until you've successfully copied someone else's.

RULES:

1. It has to be a new video! No recycling videos you made before.
2. It can only be one combo. You can film yourself playing for a while and then just tell us at what time the combo you want to challenge us starts and ends at, if that would be easier.
3. It has to be you playing! No cheating. No stealing other people's videos and just editing it.
4. For right now I'm gonna say no Turbo mode.
5. NO USING "AUTOMATIC"
6. If no one can successfully copy a combo for one week, then someone else is free to post a new video.

I have no idea how long this is going to last. Hopefully awhile. If it comes down to only two people going back and forth, maybe we can have a no-holding-back/anything-goes final round or something with voting??? We'll see. For now, let's just have fun.

Anyone is free to post the first video, but once it's posted that has to be the video people try to replicate.

Here are the rules commonly used by the True Style Tournament. The rules haven't changed much over the last 7 years, so if you're going to do something like that, I recommend you go with what's traditionally worked
  • All footage must be recorded in DMD mode.
  • Maximum length for videos is six minutes. No, I won't allow extra time for non-turbo players.
  • Minimum length is three minutes, but four or five are preferred.
  • Maximum of 3 clips per video. But if you want to use only 1 or 2 clips, that's fine.
  • All rooms MUST be fully cleared.
  • Any group of enemies or boss can be selected, but remember that they must be defeated within a certain timeframe: you don't want a fight that will be too short or too long.
  • Caps alert: NO EDITING ALLOWED UNTIL THE FREESTYLE ROUND. This means: no speeding/slowing down of footage, no cutting things out, no insertion of clips, no subtitles (except before or after the gameplay), and no use of cheat codes to give you or the enemies infinite health, etc.
  • You can, however, add your own choice of background music. Indeed, doing so is encouraged. Anything other than hearing Taste The Blood 50 times in a row... >_>;
  • Also, you can freely edit in the Freestyle round.
  • Super costumes are allowed. A good reason for using one is preferred, however.
  • And finally, webcam/digicam footage is allowed, but if the quality is too poor I reserve the right to disqualify your entry: the same applies if it is too laggy or choppy. Try to explore other ways of recording and only use webcam or digicam footage as a last resort.
After DmC was released this tournament stopped happening, and the vstyle tournament was introduced as a more low key tournament to take its place. They used very similar rules, and for 4 years it has also been a pretty successful tournament

EDIT - fixed the vstyle link
