So after completing DmC I thought to all those who beat the game we have a little bit of speculation fun. As if talking about a possible future to the overall universe that was established here this time around. I personally am interested in this take on Dante's tale more so than the previous because I see alot more potential and even though the ending maybe a little anti-climatic it does deliver quite the decent set up to bring Devil May Cry's rather unorganized canon full circle in this sense.
WARNING AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD:
At the end of DmC Vergil reveals his hidden dark motives and Dante steps in to stop him becoming the self proclaimed protector of the human race (I like this because now we have a more Dante centric storyline where our main man Dante would become the legendary hero than evidently living in his father's shadow) But since Limbo now completely co-exist with the real world we know everyone is brought to the realization of the existence of demons.
So, with the world now having a demon problem on their hands a business like "Devil May Cry" becomes a pretty normal thing after a while. This can hold alot of potential for characters from the previous series to get a nice breath of fresh air too. Demon bounty hunting can become a regular occupation for people willing to do the job.
We also look at some of the loose ends we have here. The established relationship between Vergil and Dante added a better sense of emotion to when they had to fight. While previous games had Vergil just ****ed off you can never really shake the sense that he's just here for a boss battle and their supposed bond doesn't carry any sort of significance or weight if it was never properly explored. We saw the brothers still had a brotherly bond and love for each other and Dante really didn't want to fight, neither did Vergil. Dante allowed Vergil to escape and so he knows he'll probably have to deal with him again one day sadly and regrettably.
So, what do you think of all this speculation that I put together? If a follow up to DmC is ever made what do you think we'd have in there? With Mundus gone we'll probably have a few demons lining up ready to take the throne Vergil wanted as well. We also now have a world which demons roam free amongst the population. Think maybe it might be time to fill in an application at Devil May Cry.
