I'm not a fan of the idea of 2 DMCs but if they make it work, i'll try to buy both. If not, I'll buy the one i like better and leave the other on the backburner.

I highly doubt that they'll release them simultaneously. But hey Capcom seems to be running out of good video game series (Resident Evil seems to be on its edge & with RE6 being like the climax, Street Fighter is losing the fighting game competition & doesn't even come out that often or barely, MegaMan ended....for now..or forever, Marvel VS Capcom 4 won't be coming out til another decade, a lot of their past series is done or irrelevant). Before Capcom was known for Resident Evil, MegaMan, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, Lost Planet(it has 3 sequels so its up there) & the other games people don't care about but are equally as good(like Okami) but now it seems all they got going for them is a few other games on a thin thread & Devil May Cry(DmC too) & Dragon's Dogma(possible replacement for Resident Evil & seems like Capcom's own Elder Scrolls). They can rise from this depucite if they re-continued the MegaMan franchise. They can turn Okami into a long running franchise too as well as reboot or pump out more Street Fighter games (responsibly of course) or hire Platinum Games to make games for them. Bring Strider Hiryu into the 3D gaming world so Capcom can have like a ninja themed game too like Ninja Gaiden. Turning DMC into 2 franchise so they can extend or continue to milk it for the money its got. Lets face it if it wasn't for this idea DMC had like a 2-3 more games(5 years at max after DMC4) then the series would've ended.

For DMC to have multible iterations or even releases that are overlapping, that is to say multiple DMC games been produced at at the same time, the franchise would need to be as popular as Street Fighter or Resident Evil, or even Megaman at it's peak, since that's the only way Capcom would greenlight them. They follow the money and right now the money says one title every few years. That's the reallity of the situation and unless you want to finance another title that's how we are going to get them.

The most unfortuanate aspect of the situation for many of Capcom's titles is adverticement. an adverticing campaing is not a cheap endeviour and I've read that it can cost as much, if not more, than the title itself. Word of mouth can only get you so far and they are facing financial issues. I only heard of Okami because I saw it on the ground floor of conventions at G4 but Capcom did near nothing to advertice the title. It's a little easier now with the internet and fan sites and the PSN and X-Box Live but alot of jewels went unnoticed in the PS2 age. You also have to consider that we, as a fan community, are but a fraction of the buyers who would be interested in such games.

It's also sad but I don't think we'll ever see a DMC title in Microsoft's or Sony's press confrences at E3, which goes to show it's popularety in contrast to other franchises. The game is just not popular enough to merit multiple simultanious productions, so we are stuck, waiting years at the time.

I agree with Berto. The two franchises will just be a bloody fan war between those who like DmC and those who like DMC. Plus Capcom is pretty much failing in making anymore games. They've lost too many people, cancelled or ran out o fgame ideas and are really falling off the game charts.

perhaps instead of making two at one time, they will concentrate on one at a time and simultaneously come out with each game. for example 2 years after DmC comes DMC5 2 years after DMC5 comes DmC2.

Thats seems like the likely scenario as the dragon's dogma team can go do DMC5 while NT does something else and when they are done, NT starts on DmC2.

I guess i'll proritize the series i like more if your right. Even if they arent released simultaneously, i probably wont have the funds to dedicate to both or something else may catch my eye.

I think most of their business strategy would be to use Western devs to reboot some old properties is ok but flawed as they've oly went to no-name western devs so bring in some mixed talent. Like some better known devs or some non-western devs.

rebooting street fighter would get them nothing so just continue as is. I think Platinum games might not want anything to do with them given their past history.

a good way to reintroduce some old games would be to piggyback them on the heels of another game like a crossover. Doing a crossover between pre reboot DMC and Darkstalkers would have been awesome. or Between DMC and VJ or okami could have worked.

A next megaman would be awesome.

I think that rather than making multiple DMC titles it's Dante that will be placed in multiple games. Place him titles like Project X Zone and the like. They'll lend him out rather than making more titles. I'ms justa guessin'

I think Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3(or Marvel VS Capcom 3) did its job of a great crossover game to reintroduce old & new video game franchises then they can recontinue those old franchises. If new series like Dragon's Dogma & Lost Planet can become successful anything is possible for future Capcom games.

Not so sure about Platinum Games. A few years ago I read an article about how Kamiya(creator of Bayonetta & DMC) was willing or always wanted to make a MegaMan game & still does. I'm sure Capcom & Platinum Games can work something out. I mean Sega & Platinum Games seem to have a strained relationship with Sega cancelling(temporarily I heard) the Bayonetta sequel & even delaying Anarchy Reigns(f*cking Sega) til 2013 for Western borders without Platinum's permissions.

Platinum has a big record of being abuse by their producers.

Capcom doesn't have the money to release DmC and DMC. I truly think DmC is DMC's replacement. They're pouring all this money and cash into a reboot of a franchise...sure there's a possibility of DMC coming back, but probably in spin-off form like Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
If Capcom were Nintendo, then hell yeah they can try and make DmC and DMC at the same time. Maybe like a Pokemon Black and White (get it? Black? White? DmC? DMC? :troll:) type of thing. Or maybe what Nintendo's doing with Mario right now.
But they're not, so I'm just going to stick with that DMC is dead.
