DmC and DMC future.

Hi guys :)
When i finished DMC4 i was very excited, that game kicked ass and i couldn't wait till moment when i will be able to continue Dante's and Nero's story. When i first saw the DmC trailer at TGS 2010 i was ofcourse very dissapointed, i couldn't understand how could they fuc**d so much. Today after seeing new trailers I am much more possitive to the new Dante, actuallly i even like him like Nero and Dante in DMC4 :D. But still i remebered that whole story, epic moments like the oppening and that Devil Arm :D
I can't imagine that Capcom will abandon that universe and the people which love those characters. You don't create so cool characters like Nero or Dante only to left, and forged about them in next game.
So hopefull I think that after DmC Capcom will back to their series and let the Ninja Theory to continue their own DmC concept alone. We would then have to DMC timelines and 2 times more DMC's :)
What do you think about it ?

It's not the first time Capcom have done this. Anyone remember Chaos Legion? Awesome game, imo, but they just left it with one game. P.N.03 was a cool concept as well, but it was kinda just abandoned. Cannon Spike, Darkstalkers, Plasma Sword, Capcom has a long list of games they could have build on, making cool sequals. It's not just Devil May Cry which got abandoned. It is only the most popular games that Capcom care to continue on and apparently Devil May Cry wasn't popular enough.
 
Damn i remambered that game too :/ It wasnt great but it was full of great concepts like summoning the Legions etc. Think, where i found my nickname ? :D That game deserve sequel :/
 
It would be great if Capcom decided to make both but it isn't very likely. Capcom will probably continue to make Devil May Cry in one form or another but they probably wouldn't be willing to take the effort to do both. If DmC gets the sales they want they will probably continue it if it doesn't they will probably make DMC5 eventually.
 
Each year games sell more so I am sure that DmC will be sold better then DMC4, question is could the DMC5 attract more costumers then DmC.

Yeah, Capcom will definitly drop any of it's franchises as soon as they stop making money, droped MegaMan, didn't they?

I don't know... I honestly think that we who want a continuation of the original franchise are screwed...

I really hate how people just assume the Megaman series as a whole is discontinued, if so, he wasn't in MVC3 because Capcom felt Zero would better represent the series, and so what Megaman universe and Legends 3 were cancelled, thats 2 games out of how many has he had. The series in general is their mascot series ,therefore they will most likely continue it in the future. I mean if 2 games are cancelled, who gives a damn, don't start throwing accusations Capcoms way because fact is, they don't give a damn. And also "droped " HEIL SPELLCHECK!
 
It WAS discuntiniued as a whole, Capcom said so. It's not two games, it's the whole thing and as much as I'd like to be wrong there is a truely miniscule possibility that there will be any more MM games.

Also, I'm not trowing accusations their way, I'm not telling them I'm telling you.
 
I also could disagree or for me could end in shock that original developers cutted whole old series, that they are not making money what they wanted. I want to see proper DMC5 after this game what is maybe I hope soonly released.
 
Whoa, Thanatos, did you have that avatar when I responded? If so, I didn't even notice, or maybe I did at a subconscious level which made me think about Chaos Legion, or maybe just your name. XD

About Megaman, they continued the original series with MM9 and MM10, they are working on Megaman Online, or rather, Rockman Online which seems to be a Korea only game, so no, Megaman is not all dead. Hopefully we will see Megaman, Zero and the others in future games. Also, the reason Zero was in Marvel VS Capcom 3 and not Megaman is because Capcom re-used the Zero model from Tatsunoko VS Capcom instead of making a whole new 3D model and gameplay for Megaman.
 
Hey, if this game does well, I have the feeling that NT won't be making a sequel.

When sequels were made of DMC, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Dead Rising, the original teams didn't get to work on them.

And if that's going to be the case, I sort of won't want to buy the next DmC2.
It's not that I don't like Capcom, it's just that I don't think they could do the story much justice...

ANYWAYS, I'm sure DMC's canonical story will be finished one way or another soon. If they really wanted to, it would be as easy as, I dunno... making some extra DLC chapters for DMC4?
 
Heh ;) I know CL since 2005, that game was really cool. Thanatos was ofcourse my favorite Legion. I really liked this name and i use it name as nickname in some games (Crysis 2, Battlefield 3) ;)
Its really sucks when you fall in love in some game and you wait for sequel but you are not sure if it ever comes :/

I know the feeling. Though I didn't like Nero much, I'd like to know more about his origins too.
Chaos Legion was awesome though. Sieg was so awesome and I loved the Legions he could summon. It was a really cool concept that I haven't seen in many other games, other than maybe Final Fantasy, but it's not performed in the same way. Final Fantasy summons feel more like heavy magic rather than gaining allies to fight by your side. Kinda like how Warlocks play in World of Warcraft, actually, but still different.

I think I might make a Sieg avatar/sig. :D
 
Chaos legion is awesome.I'm itching for a chaos legion 2 when i beat it then after years of years,i lost faith because they just abandoned it.
 
God, I hate it when people say they're waiting for a "proper" DMC game. That's such a vague term, and seems very biased. DmC seems very "proper" as a Devil May Cry game. Good music, good combat, excellent graphics, awesome weapons, and Boss Battles as well as the return of Red Orbs (meaning of course unlock-able items) and interesting and unique settings. All of these things made DMC famous and all of them are in DmC. How is it not proper? You mean the story? Yeah, the story is gone but I've had my fill of Dante's mood swings between games and women wearing stripper outfits. I'd like a fresher story and DmC presents this by being made by a company that's excellent at story crafting, character development, and great third dimensional characters.
 
i think DmC should be the series future. i think it looks awesome so far and i like what we've seen better than the original series.
