Devil May Cry 2011 E3 Gameplay Trailer

***
EDIT:
Before you read this post please watch the interview in the following article:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/09/24/re-imaging-of-dante-and-the-new-devil-may-cry/
In the last few seconds of the interview the Chief Creative Director says: "We know the full story of the game and it's not a totally different departure actually, it will fit in with ?? (heavy british accent, I couldn't figure out what he said, something like "the story"/"the franchise") that we know""-The franchise is still somekind of a canon in the reboot.

Based on that and the quotes in the beginning of the trailer, I wrote what I think the major things in the trailer means, ie: the silver hair color, weapons, cloak.

That being said, you can carry on reading.
***

First of all I'll give my opinion about the story:
When I say the first DmC trailer, I was shocked. Badly.
Seriously, the first DmC trailer sucked. Hard. Really hard.
After seeing this trailer, I feel better about the upcoming game due to some reasons that I will detail later in this post. However, the textures and the graphics sucks badly. I know it's a WIP game, but it still sucks. Dante still looks ****ty. Still, now I have some hopes for the game, before this trailer, I considered to be as worthy as a crap.

Alright, now to the analysis:
I won't be analyzing the background, text, bosses, enemies, etc. in this thread. Instead, I will focus on Dante. Someone else will analyze the rest sometime :p

In the beggining of the trailer, we can see that Dante carries a sword, like he does in all other DMC titles. That sword will probably be his main weapon. It kinda resembles a Force Edge/Rebellion look. Check out these pic that shows the sword from different angles:

The Rebellion/Force Edge (probably will be named Rebellion in the game if they're going to continue with the Devil May Cry continuity) also appears to (probably) replace the weapon from the first trailer that can be attached to enemies. I guess they changed that weapon to a more traditional weapon so that the fans won't be too mad.

Later in the trailer, our Rebellion V2 was shown transfering into some fire sword:

However, I'm not sure if this is Rebellion's second form or just a new weapon they (Ninja Theory) entered did when they edited the trailer. That weapon is obviously a fire-based weapon. Right after it appears, fire was shot from the ground on an enemy. That remindes me of Inferno, an Ifrit skill from the first Devil May Cry in the original title.

Also, there is a all-new weapon that was shown during the trailer:

zemwzc03utjm.bmp

I'm not sure what devilish powers the weapon has, I guess it has something to do with water/ice/wind, due to the weapon's color.

In addition, few seconds after the first minute, a devilish flame appeared around Dante and burned the enemies, as seen in this pic:

Shorly after the devilish flame appears, Dante's hair becomes white and his cloak becomes DMC3 style red, like the old Dante we all know and love. You can see the transforted Dante in this pic:

My opinion is that when Dante's being close to demons and fighting them for a while, he reveals his true self. The psycho thing from the previous (and first) trailer might mean that Dante is hunted by his past but can't remember it (something like in the Devil May Cry novel), and in the end of the game he will be awaken somehow and get in shape and become the good ol' Dante. His guns are also resembling Ebony & Ivory, and they were designed before he knew who he really was.

In the gameplay, this thing will probably act like the DT system from previous games.

That's it for now :)

In case you are wondering-all the pics where captured especially for this thread.
You can see all of them sapareted with time into video in this gallery:

I know you don't understand the language, but that doesn't metters when you're watching images. If you have Google Chrome, you can ask it to translate the page to your language if you want.

Feel free to share your opinion about this analysis and about the trailer in this thread :)

im guessing the weapon is a combination of the shapshifting thing from the first trailer and rebellion from the main series.

This Dante won't become good ol' Dante because this is total remake of the series, they also announced an continuation of DMC4 soon too.
This DMC is not related to the past series....

really? can you give me your source?
I remember they said this is on the same story line few weeks after the release

Think what you want....I said mine, you just don't know how to accept another theory

dude relax, if that's you're theory I have no problem with that! You wrote it as a fact in your first post, and then at the following posts I was confused because I never heard it. We had some serious misunderstanding!

Everything's fine, I'm totally relaxed even if you don't accept it, I don't really care....
But come on do you seriously think that this Dante has anything in common with old Dante?
They are two completely different universes, don't you think...

At the part with the red flames around him, it reminds me of royalguard, when Dante goes on the defense. I wonder if this is the same concept, eg. in DmC he becomes more 'in tune' with his inner devil when he goes into defensive mode (the blonde hair thing), whereas in DMC....well, I might be confusing myself now cos I haven't played DMC4 in a looooooong while, but you get varying degrees of royalguard when you go into DT mode, right?

Never mind, I have no idea what I was trying to say.

-edit-
He looks like Vergil on a bad hair day in those snaps.

i don't think it's so much of him "revealing" his true form when fighting demons as it seems to be more of a DT for this dante...and i think the flames just appear when he activates it...as for further analysis of the trailer, did anyone else notice dante using the summoned swords?

So... since this is the analysing thread I thought I'd post my thoughts in here.

In the one scene where he falls through the ceiling (so Dante, btw) into the cathedral place to whip all those demons, all the bunks or pews, or whatever you call them, are suspended in the air.
I don't know if this is supposed to give the impression that he's wiping all these demons in the time span it takes for a bunk to fall from the ceiling (which is...weird and makes no sense, how'd they get there anyway?), or whether it's an 'alternate' universe in which he is fighting where gravity doesn't have hold and all things illogical exist, kind of like a hell of sorts.
I'm leaning toward the latter explanation.
There were no other people visible whenever he's fighting these demons, and once he's DONE fighting all these things, the destruction he caused is not visible and everything seems to be whole and in place again. So I think somebody somewhere is messing with the black arts and have created this 'other' dimension, and it's kind of like an experiment/big brother type of setting. And Dante stands out from the crowd because he can see through the layers into this demonic hell and what's more is that he can kick these demons' butts, which is why they eventually catch him and interrogate him.

I think since its a teaser trailer, you should take it as artistic license.
Im guessing the second dimension is one adjacent to the real world where the demons/ supernatural things live and is kept seperate from humans. I'm guessing that Sparda's death must have weakened it. I'm hoping we do get some demonic allies
