Short story -
By LordOfDarkness.

Vergil raced through the City streets, his almost animalistic nature scurrying along the concrete floor, rapidly moving faster than most could blink. The pounding sound of heartbeats from of a pack of small demons were disappearing quicker and quicker, and Vergil couldn't let up. Their escape was completely useless and their capture completely inevitable, as Vergil's eyes glared with hatred and every breathe he took riddled with revenge fueled emotions. The demons moved their sorry selves into a large building, until they escalated to the top of it on foot. Vergil smashed through the door with absolute ease, and literally flew up each flight of steps, with the great speed he was going. Finally the hunt had come to an end, the clock on their lives was up, and Vergil wasn't going to let it tick any longer. He was on the rooftops with the demons he had been persuing, and now he wanted what they had taken.

"Hand me what I seek, and maybe I'll spare you all" Vergil lied to them, reaching his hand out towards the group of five demons in front of him.

The demon holding the posession nervously slid the coin across the ground, and Vergil knelt to pick it up. Unfortunately leaving himself a little too open for attack, the other demons around him leapt forward, taking what little chance they had to get a direct hit on Vergil's body. As they came closer as fast as they could move, Vergil had already anticipated their attacks. He effortlessly avoided their sword swings, with an added yawn, and merely punched the demons away from him. "How pathetic" he spat at them, his words spluttering into the environment with anger.

Unsheathing his trusty yamato, he sent them off the building in tiny little pieces. To most it would of been raining flesh, as the front of the building was brushed by demonic blood; leaving little stains on it, and bigger stains on the ground below. He put away his sword and examined the coin in his right hand, turning it over to reveal that it was a double sided coin. His brother's voice came into his head "Heads I win, tails you lose". He put the coin away into his pocket and turned to leave the rooftop, having retrieved what he was after.

With what seemed like a tear in his eye, he whispered to himself what only he could of heard anyway.

"Maybe some day I'll see you again".
