It's the eyebrows. And the face shape. You see it, don't you? Some of the expressions David pull remind me of Dante, anyway.

Gideon Emery and Reuben Langdon.

Reuben Langdon voiced and motion captured Dante in DMC3 and 4. I think some of his features were used as well.

That means... By extension, Gideon Emery kind of looks like Dante, well, an older Dante. So... Maybe Dante has a long-lost, older brother, cousin, relative person.
