Devil May Cry 2/DmC Comparisons.

I actually noticed the comparisons I while back.

But those pics further confirms it.

It seems as if NT and Capcom has decided to use alot of stuff from DMC2 which only further adds to the problem considering DMC2 is the worse game in the series IMO.

Kinda not the 1 DMC game you want to model your game after now is it.

This was actually quite interesting. Thank you. ^^

And it also confirms that I felt there was indeed a DMC vibe over the new game and the trailers from it.

I would have felt more assured if there were more comparisons to 1,3, or 4. Honestly all I have is a bunch of mixed feelings about this game.

I agree.

Having a comparison towards the worse DMC game is not a good thing by any means.

If anything they obviously should have used elements from DMC1 and DMC3.

Personally from the updates on DmC that I've seen already, I'd rather have DMC2 over this new game any day.

Maybe Ninja Theory are styling their game on many things that Devil May Cry 2 featured, just to see if they can make it look better. We can't assume this is Ninja Theory's take on Devil May Cry 2, because that doesn't make sense. So apart from the huge similarities (Because they are huge) it is not a copy of DMC 2. It does make the game look more like a Devil May Cry game now though, since we know a lot of the similarities are from a Devil May Cry game. I know that two wasn't the best one to go with, that I can agree on.

I'll admit I don't know how significant a lot of these similarities are. I guess I'll tackle each one at a time.

Arches? There's arches in every DMC game not to mention countless other games.
Assassin's Creed for example,

Strange buildings? Those two building don't even resemble one another apart from being "strange." (The one in the DmC image is more badass than strange if you ask me)

Crossway? Other buildings look like that. There's one in New York City.

Empty rooms? Most DMC games are devoid of people besides the main characters.

Zooming? Like no game ever had zoom in before...

Big one? A lot of games have Big Ones;

Demon's Souls

Some of the similarities that the guy/girl posted are interesting, but the ones I listed are the ones that I think are only significant in the context of the whole post, but take those out as I've done and they really don't seem that similar anymore. (To me at least)

There was nothing wrong with DMC2 as such. It was just... lacking. It was an average game, nothing spectacular, but it had some nice things in it - such as playing as Lucia, the amulet configuration, easy dodging and gameplay overall. But there was nothing extraordinary about it as such. I wouldn't say it is a bad game like many others here does, but it's not up to the same standard as the other games.

DmC will hopefully be up to the same standard, but clearly with some unique elements that haven't been seen in the past DMC games, but also with some recognizable elements in it as well. It is basically a different take on the same world, the same story. And I look forward to see what NT has in store for us.
