Demon Dodge Could Have Been The "Guard" Button...

Two buttons for dodge is one thing but three types of dodge?

While I'm happy with how they crammed some moves together (charged shots of E&I and Revenant are not just powered up shots) the dodge variety feels redundant.

If holding the Demon trigger turns dodging into guarding, then it should solve a lot of problems.

I agree, they could also get rid of the parry as we have in this game and make Demon Guard just like Royal Guard.

Yep that would make the most sense. Angel mode being about getting out of the way quickly while demon mode is about standing your ground against an attack and guarding it.

why get rid of the parry? they can co-exist since they have different benefits, just somewhat similar execution.
What they do need to do is nerf the parry. Prop parry needs almost no timing to use, and basically gives you a free parry to almost anything in the game.

i agree. they should tweak it so that it only parries long range projectiles (thats what it was made to be used for in the first place). and if they had included demon guard instead of DD then three perfect guards without taking damage should have given the "adrenaline boost"

Yeah, I agree that Demon Dodging should have been just a block. Not sure whey there were two evade buttons to begin with. Let alone having THREE dodges at once.

:| ..........or they should do whatever they want because its their game and the IP and we seriously have no effect on what they do

As consumers, we all have the power to just not support Capcom with our money. We could make any company that heavily relies on consumers to go bankrupt by simply not buying their products. We hold more power than what you think.

Don't get me wrong, it's not because I don't like it, but the game is already too easy with what we have, just imagine if they give us something as powerful as RoyalGuard without taking out any deffensive options?

I agree with demon blocking. Also on the Angel evade they could put the slow-mo effect without the power boost to give the player a bit of extra time to decide where to teleport, a bit like how people combine the evades now but without the need of switching modes.

I actually don't want a demon block. Some else except a demon block.

Because then that would make things way too easy and you can block all the attacks that come at you. That's one of the reasons I never used RoyalGuard in DMC3; Why waste my time standing there like a target when I can just go at them?

This really isn't how you should use RoyalGuard though :P

really? How are you suppose to use it?

Oh, you mean guard canceling?

Yeah, I'm not too big of a fan on those mechanics. I just like to slash away.^_^

Well, you can still slash away while blocking/parrying attacks with Royal Guard in DMC4. And technically speaking, same thing goes for the evade system in DmC. You can evade during most attacks on the ground.

Well there is Royal Release counterattacks and such to use as well. And the occasional hard as hell to dodge attack, sometimes it's just best to tank the attack with RG even if your timing is bad.

For this game, I think a Demon Parry would be good... eventhough they wanted to give use to sword parrying. But I think both could co-exist together. And if you're going to give such a high boost to the player, gotta make them work for it...

how about if parryis made exclusively for the long range attacks such as the witches swordsor the harpys spear?

Why not include Vergilsaur as a final boss while we're at it right? Oh wait, maybe the magic winged unicorn would be a better idea? I mean, it's not like we have to PAY for the game right?
