Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
Hey guys.
I just wanted to take this time to review Dante's fighting style with each weapon we've seen so far so here goes;
First; EBONY & IVORY
Now, his style with these guns, to me, seem like he's fairly trained to use guns, but I don't think he's as target savvy as the old Dante. Like how Dante was able to hit a billiard ball right in the air and make it hit the other balls. I don't think this Dante can do that, because he probably wasn't properly trained to do that. However, he does seem to know a lot of interesting moves with them like the rainstorm moves and the charge shot. Hell, I don't think he even knows how to reload guns since his don't need reloading.
Next; REBELLION
Now for his style with Rebellion, it seems he's more for the "full brutal assault" approach then the "looking cool" approach. With his first combo or combo 1, he seems to just swinging it randomly and at the last swing, trip over his feet a bit. But the second combo, he shows a bit more self taught flare as he spins with a swings and ends it with a powerful over shot. Stinger seems the same as the old Dante but more body leaning with it. Then there's trillion stab which is less as powerful but just as deadly. High time is now a more baseball swing like move and him jumping up with them is seemingly elegant mixed with brutality. His air combos, like his combo 1, is more brutal and self taught, but with roulette spin, it's more self taught style. Helm breaker is self explanatory. Drive most likely was taught to him by someone maybe.
Next; GRAPPLING HOOK
Not much is said about this weapon or what it's called, but it is speculated that it comes from the first boss you defeat called the hunter. Dante seems very skilled at using it as he's able to grab enemies from far away and pull them to him. He also shows great hand eye coordination to be able to catch the demons without missing. This also shows while in the air, pulling the demons up with him for an assault of attacks. The grapple hook can also pull him to enemies as well, as he flies through the air to his enemies or to another platform.
Next; OSIRIS
Dante with Osiris seems to show off the most style. Just like with the Rebellion, Dante seems to be self taught with some of his attacks, but others from long training. Prop Shredder is a great example of this as he's able to control the scythe and even be able to switch hands with it. In the air he seems more then a master at using the scythe from how he spins with it and how well he can use it. The rake is a good maneuver for bringing up more enemies too. The mover where he spins and him sliding across the ground while whinging the scythe around him is a good example that this weapon is probably his favorite to use. However, the theory for Dante to be able to use Osiris so easily could be because the soul of Osiris transmitted into Dante's soul and added its skills to Dante, giving him control of Osiris and how to use it.
Now; ARBITER
Arbiter is his heaviest weapon, so obviously there's not much grace or style to use it. Dante for the most part, seems to know how to use it from him swinging it up to bringing it down. The tremor is a good way to clear your enemies way, or just to launch them in the air. The throwing of the blade of the axe seems like a desperate move to clear the field of enemies. In the air obviously he can't stay there for long with it, but because of the throwing of the blade attack, he can more easily use it in mid air. Then theirs his landing where it's good to just smash the enemy under you, or send enemies up to kick their asses in the air. You don't need much skill to use it, but you do need good timing and demonic power to do some of the things Dante does with it.
Next;ERYX
Eryx are just the gauntlets but their more reminiscent of boxing gloves which means no Chinese or anything like that. For the most part, Dante's fighting style is like that of a normal street brawler mixed with boxing. Some of his moves are cheap shots like the holding of his third punch where he etches close to you and finally gives you a powerful hay maker. The rising dragon (Or as I like to call it Shoryuken^_^) seems to be one of a regular uppercut when not charged, and him regaining his footing a bit after that. When fully charged it's a leeway for a powerful uppercut of fire following in the punches wake. The forward jab, is more professional of a boxer as he jumps back and makes a wild jab at demons. In the air, I guess there's not much to do when you can't use arms and legs so a simple punch down would do. The stomp is a simple punch to the ground that anyone can do, but with the gloves power, can be devastating.
and Finally; REVENANT
The Revenant from what's been seen in Dante's hands is more target based then anything. With E & I, it's more pelt them with bullets, but with Revenant it's more target, shoot, and kill. The fireworks seems the most taught to him by someone since to be able to spin it around your body with such precision while shooting seems more professional to do. In the air, it's the same with ground shots. When charged, a large ball of demonic energy shoots out so it's speculated he could shoot explosions.
That's all for my review. When new weapons show up, I'll update.^_^
