Here is my DMC3 Bloody Palace, No Blue Orbs run. If you've got 2 1/2 hours and want to watch the run lol. Hope you enjoy it if you watch it!
Bloody Palace actually started with DMC2, interestingly. The vanilla release of DMC3 did not feature the mode, but with the release of the Special Edition version of the game, Bloody Palace was added. For me that meant that I could have endless runs of the game. I remember at the time I thought that it was an endless mode. It actually is endless in DMC2 as I understand it. I've never done more than 10,000 floors of DMC2, and that was merely to get an achievement in the game.
In DMC3, you beat the BP by beating 10,000 floors. I've beaten it many times, and I've done these restricted runs several times as well. I've only completed the "No Blue Orbs" run 4 times including the linked stream above that I posted to Youtube.
This time I went with Trickster, as I had been having trouble with Royal Guard against the triple Hell Vanguard fights that come up every 3000 floors or so. It got pretty dicey on the Devil Triggered double Hell Vanguard fight at the end of the run. I just DT scummed my way through. Believe me, that deep into a run, your heart races when you come within a hair's breadth of losing the run. But I made it out alive to tell the tale.
Along with Trickster, I equipped Ebony and Ivory for consistent distance damage, Kalina Ann for massive close range damage, and featured Nevan as my primary weapon. I utilized Beowulf for boss fights. Nevan just shreds the Bloody Palace. It's hard to choose a build for a run sometimes, but I usually try to keep Nevan in my kit for this reason.
What kind of challenge runs have you done in DMC3 or in other games in the series? Which game do you think has the hardest Bloody Palace? What is the best version of Bloody Palace?
