Crusty and old on the outside...

Golden Saint God of Overlords
but gold and creamy on the inside. Why in the hell would I say that? Not entirely sure. Where are the angels in this universe anyways, do they not care about the Demon Lord that's indoctrinated humanity with his lobotomy soda and G. Gordon Godf...I mean Bob Barbas? I would think the angels having control over humanity or at least keeping out of the hands of the Demons would give them the upper hand in their alleged war of the worlds....eh go figure.

Well, since it takes place in a world where demons have a passive aggressive grip on the world secretly controlling it, I'm guessing the demons somehow figured out a way to win the war and get the angels out of the picture. Kind of like Mark Millar's Wanted. (The comic series, not the movie adaption)

DmC still has a lot of open ended stuff. Questions that were clearly set up for a hypothetical sequel.

Are we gonna get another angels/Soulcalibur is actually evil thing going on? Not that I don't like that idea (truth be told there's plenty of stories that make this plot element work quite well) but I get the feeling it's just gonna be another one of those been there done that kind of thing. Ya know?

Well, I thought it was implied that there was a war and the Demons won.
Dante was just born after the fact.

The title got me excited, but then I was like "awww, talking and stuff" :(

But anyway, I think it has to do with demons residing in a realm on Earth that no other being can go through except physics to some extent and Nephilim (Dante and Vergil).

Never at any point did they say that the war was won. In fact there's in dialogue that dictates to the contrary, the war is supposedly still going on even through the events of the story.

I was referring to one that would have been on earth. This could make sense since the angels don't seem to have any particular reason to fight for or help humanity. And there's no particular reason for Dante to have met an angel anywhere in the game.

And thank you for helping me see why there can't be a god in the DmC universe.

Granted it isn't even known whether or not angels actually exists in DMC. There are very few mentions or links to the possibility of Angels: There's the Fallen (DMC3), the Angelic looking DT forms of Credo and Lucia, and the Wing Talisman from DMC4 is a crystallized angel feather. eh who knows.

Maybe Archangel Vulcanus did get reincarnated after all and made a deal with Mundus.....
