Combat Meta-Game/Achievements

In the lower right corner there. It looks like they've added a meta-game aspect to the game. I'm assuming these offer. I wonder how far they'll take it.

It might be an achievement/trophy thing or a way to increase your overall score during the mission? I don't know. I did see that and I was wondering the same, we will just have to wait and see. Definitely cool how they show you your progress on it. Some games tell you things like "kill 50 enemies" but they never show you how many you have gotten so far, it's annoying.

yes i definitely believe this is a visual for an achievement kinda how gears of war 3 did.

I've seen a few games do this.
Borderlands and Arkham City have non-Achievement Point achievements.
So far it looks quite nice.
