Im pretty sure it can, at least the one from the original dmc games. Vergil does have an ability called Dimensional slice. And if im remember correctly it was used by sparda to cut open the dimension. On top of that Dante has an ability in dmc4 called "slash dimension" with the literal description saying "A swift motion of the blade that cuts through dimensional barriers and unleashes a vortex of destruction". So i think its safe to assume that it can. Although im guessing it mostly depends on the wielder.

What NessPSI said. Only, I don't know why you'd want to cut 'through dimensions'. Seems like you could seriously hurt some people in that other dimension. XD
But yeah, it can cut away the barrier between dimensions, I guess... which also doesn't seem like a great idea, because how is that barrier supposed to heal itself afterward? But then, I don't understand this type of thing anyway.
