Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Incendies) is in negotiations to direct the Blade Runner sequel for Alcon Entertainment, while Harrison Ford is set to return as Rick Deckard.
The announcement was made today by Alcon co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

“We are honored that Harrison is joining us on this journey with Denis Villeneuve, who is a singular talent, as we experienced personally on Prisoners" said the pair in a statement.

Doesn't Harrison Ford returning kinda just kill all the fun speculation of Rick being a replicant himself?

Well the fail-safe device was only installed in the latest Nexus-6 generation. So there is a possibility that he from the older Nexus-6 generation. Or maybe he was a human after all.

I'd rather not see anything. Blade Runner is good as is. Harrison Ford is too old to do all the cool stuff he used to do, and Ridley Scott has just proven time and time again now he's a hack.

"As is."

Hah. You should wear a T-shirt saying that. XP

Anyway, I'll watch it just to see how bad it is. Also, the "grim future" aesthetic just isn't the same without Ridley Scott. Jupiter Rising or whatever that movie had tried to pull it off, but something went wrong along the way and now this movie is the only film that can fill that particular niche.
