Are Dante's quotes as stylish in this?

I remember from the first game, the Griffon, it being along the lines of "Are you the son of Sparda, he who would defy the darkness Mundus?" To which Dante responds with something like "Flock off feather face"

He always seemed to have witty situation based banter depending on his foe and what was happening (Except in DMC2 of course). In the examples I was shown he just seemed to get in a cursing match with a boss.....does it improve?

Towards the end of the game, Dante and Vergil talk a lot and show some brotherly rivalry (which is my favorite part because I have 2 younger brothers and we do this all the time).
Vergil: We make a great team
Dante: I'm stronger
V: I'm smarter
D: I'm better looking (Vergil rolls eyes)
(After cutscene ends)
V: . . . Well I've got a bigger dick
lol I laughed too much at this

Let me see.

"****. Back in Limbo. Bad day for a hangover."
"I don't know my mother, but if you're callin' me a son of a bitch, you wouldn't be the first!"
"This is hard hitting news, Bob!"
"Put a spin on this."
"It's on, bitch!"

SWAT man"I've got her" (Kat)
Dante" And I got you, motherfucker!"

Mundus: "I am Mundus!"
Dante: "You're an asshole!"

I'm your prom date, you ugly sack of ****!"
"F*ck you!":troll:

I don't really think so.

They are funny, but while in DMC he spewed confidence, in DMC3 he spewed arrogance, in this one it was a juvenile indifference and pompousness later on. It's not the same so if you would consider the original's one liners as stylish then this one will provably come off as something else.

My favorite so far is:
Kat, "You have to go through the five levels... it's going to be hell"
*enters elevator* *cue music*
Dante, "..."
"She's right, this is hell."

That was the one quote I liked that Dante says.

Everything else was just meh.

There's some good bits here and there, but it struck me as inconsistent, sometimes excess profanity took place of cleverness. The puns are especially awkward to me, because the character and setting is otherwise so grim and dark that when when he says some seriously goofy stuff like "You're all mixed up" in reference to Poison getting sliced into graphically bloody chunks by a fan and becoming a part of her own gross brew, I was just like "...uh". But the game does try. At one point, he calls a couple flying harpies "You flocking b*stards", in fond reference to the quote you used.

The thing I like more than his lines in this game, is his actual tone and speed that he speaks at. It's natural. It's hard to find voice actors that actually come across as non-chalant, but this Dante really nailed it for me, even with the swearing. The mo-cap in this game is also really helpful on selling it. The first interaction Dante has with Virgil is my favorite actually. He lowers his voice at the right times, and actually comes across not as a smart ass, but as someone who isn't interested and trying to act "cool", rather than someone giving the voice actor a line and having him try hard to be a genuine jack ass, if that makes sense?
