About the enemies...

So something I've noticed about some of the enemies in DMC5 is that they don't really react when their flat on the ground. They just lay there as you attack then. Has that always been a thing in DMC?

Not sure what you mean.

Some of the enemies have a "damaged while lying down animation".
Meanwhile some don't, like the Assaults.

Angelos in DMC4 are weird, where if you attack them while they're lying down, it will make them automatically stand up because of the damaged animation.

I think so, actually. When you knock enemies down they don't do much except slide back and maybe go up in the air if you launch.
