A weird argument I just remebered

It went something like this:
"Anyone who's first introduction to Devil May Cry is DmC and they don't like it, they will automatically assume the originals are just as bad and not play them."

I asked why it isn't physically and mentally possible for someone not to be judgmental and be willing to try the classics.
He respond with the equivalent of: "They can't because I say so." Making certain points in all caps.
And then one of his buddies said I wouldn't/couldn't get it because I wasn't a "True fan" and a "stupid f*ggot". :/

Anyone else have weird arguments about DmC like this?

Whoever it was, he sounds like a troll to me. :/ Yeah, there were purists with that attitude--I came across them, too; you know, the ones who only like DMC prior to Reuben Langdon doing the voice, so of course, also to the exclusion of DmC. Naturally, this meant that because I actually like DMC3 and 4, I was no better than the "DmC fans" (Seriously, can we start putting all the idiots together on a deserted island?). I think for the most part, though, people spent their energy intentionally exacerbating an already ridiculous situation.

Like whatever you like, make no apologies for it, and don't let anyone tell you that you aren't a true fan, just because you like DmC.

People are always saying stupid things about DmC. And not just DmC, but everything. Everyone says stupid things about something at some point in their life. It's nothing to be concerned with. I don't know why new threads have to be made over it. It seems like a waste of everyone's time. :cautious:

..............including mine.

Don't ask how big, or don't ask how you know?

Yeah, I guess you're right.
But this one in particular seemed to stand out to me.(In terms of stupidity. )

Now that I think about he was the one who (indirectly) introduced me to this site.
Which made me think his "logic" was popular around here.

No, the guy was genuine I think. He was just kind of a fanboy, and really bad at logic.
I'm mean he wasn't even willing to admit that it isn't an objective fact that new Dante is a bad character.

His friends might have been though, because they went on to make an "anti-DmC" thread on some other site and then claimed the point wasn't to hate on DmC.

Agreed with this girl right here^^^

These kinds of threads only add fuel to the haters vs supporter thing.

Supporters of DmC can come in and poke fun at this guy's lack of logic.

While the haters can sit around either glad that their trolling worked enough for someone to make a thread about it or getting angry enough to spew more hate around the web for DmC because supporters are making fun of them.

Just have never seen the point in these kinds of threads that post haters complaints on DmC who may have just possibly been trolling in the first place.

Haters are best left ignored if at all times possible in my opinion, don't feed them.

Yeah, in retrospect it wasn't a good idea to make this thread.
I probably would have realized that had I not made it at 5something AM, half asleep, and with a headache.:hungover:
