A Prequel to a Prequel?

Devil May Cry 3 is a prequel to Devil May Cry, and Devil May Cry 2 is a sequel to Devil May Cry, which is a prequel to Devil May Cry 4. Does that make the new Dmc a prequel to Devil May Cry 3?
That would make it a Prequel to Prequel, which the original prequel is now a sequel.

DmC has nothing to do with the old Devil May Cry series. It's neither a sequel or a prequel. Just think of it as something completely different. New Dante, new world, new story.

There is absolutely no relationship between the up-coming DmC and the original Devil May Cry series.
And as you can see the Dante featured in it is very different to the original Dante. This Dante is a hybrid of Angle and Demon, while the original Dante is the son of the demon Sparda and a human (Eva).
With that said even the setting of it is completely different...

Yes, as this thread is now kinda meaningless as both me and Selutu explained that DmC has nothing to do with DMC, thus exterminating the possibility of it being a prequel, I suppose it shall be locked.
