I got the idea form another forum I'm in.Tell me what you think.
This can be a BASARA spin-off...not unlike the strikeforce series,but better.[Instead of getting another Battle Heroes. :kurokan: ]So without further ado,here is the [possible I hope] future for the PSP BASARAs.
The core of this BASARA game is to push it to be more...BASARA than ever by adding to each and every character an elemental animal transformation.Usually the animal motifs will be very obvious[ex : Masamune and Kenshin] and they will act as a cross between Devil Trigger and Sengoku Drive mode.
The gameplay will be pretty simple : the same as the other BASARA games.Simple,no?It will have some Battle Heroes and Devil May Cry tweaks though.Here they are :
Controls List :
D-Pad : moves character/highlights menu choices
Analog Nub : moves character/highlights menu choices
X button : Jump Button/Cancel options at the menu screens
Circle button : BASARA Attack/Confirms options at the menu screens
Square button : Attack Button[S-String]
Triangle button : Skill button 1
R button : Adjusts camera[when pressed just once]/target an enemy[keep holding for effect and when the target is on let go.To switch the target mode off simply keep holding the R button.]
L button : Guard[Keep holding to hold guard other wise it's quick guard/parry,also centers camera behind the player when guarding.]
Start : Pauses the game and brings up menu screens.
Select : Taunt
Combination Buttons/Advanced Controls :
L + D-Pad/Analog Nub : Evasive Maneuvre/Slide
R + Square/Circle/X Button : Skill Commands 2,3,4
R + Triangle Button : Super Skill Command
R + L or X + Square + Triangle[At the same time] : Transformation
It's very much like the BASARA games,closer to BASARA 3 with more skill commands etc.The string will as always be an excact copy of the one from SB2 : Heroes[except for the characters that got upgraded in SB3].The characters will have in total 8 weapons and 4 armours.The weapons will be mostly non-elemental[some Ultimate[7th] and Super Ultimate[8th] Weapons will have elements] except during the transformation and the BASARA attack.Some skills will add elemental damage too.
Each character will have one or two alternative costumes apart from their standard costume.Each character,like in SB3 can have 5 skills in battle,4 normal and one super skill.He can put the skills in the way he likes,unlike SB3.The choice is yours.Also the characters will have levels that go up to 100[MAX in the game] as well as the skills.To level up the skills though,one has to go to the city's trainer.Also some skills are unlocked by leveling up.The totall amount of skills a character has is either 7 or 8.
Also every player will have a unique trait like in SB3.When transformed the player will speed up a bit,his power will rise,his attacks will be element based,his jump height and distance will increase and his appearence will change.
The battles will take place in stages in a way akin to Battle Heroes;the stages will be very small[like...think Sekigahara? from SB2(ll stages will be different of course) but much smaller and without the god-awfull red lines] with only a handfull of generals/peons[far more than Battle Heroes of course;not as many as the main BASARA games though,but not 3 or 4 at a time] that one has to defeat before the general appears.
The game will have four modes : a Story mode,a Unification/Challenge mode,a Free Battle mode and a Daibudokai mode.
The free mode and Daibudokai mode are pretty much know to all of us.This time though there will be the option to do a single and a double run.The single run refers to a 1 Vs 1 run while the double run refers to 2 Vs 2 run of any of the two modes.
In the Unification/Challenge Mode you can pick a character and go to the lands/provinces and seek to challenge the lord of the land.You can do so by completing tasks in the area's colloseum[just an arena...again think Sekigahara? in SB2 but smaller and without the god-awfull red lines],like defeat X soldiers,defeat that UNPC,do a X combo count etc.After all the tasks are complete you can challenge the area lord and defeat him to get his land.Each time a land is conquered,simply challenge and defeat the conqueror.You can switch characters anytime during this mode.In this mode you can run around the city square and go buy,upgrade and/or unlock new equipment at the blacksmiths,change characters at the inn,upgrade/level up your skills at the trainer and finally go to the coloseum to begin the challenges.
Story mode will be a bit different;the players can only go to the towns the characters originate from and do stuff their.While the arena challenges and the rest will be there,the main battles for the story will take place outside town.Each story will have 6 main stages with game rendered cutscenes.The starting and finishing cutscene will be : a)anime or b)CG.Your call!
The main stories are 4 :
1)A gaiden story that pits the BASARA friends cast[MasaYuki,Sasuke,Kojuuro,Oyakata-sama,Kenshin,Kasuga,ANIKI,Motonari(Yes,I know,WTF),Keiji and the Maeda couple.] against the Oda,Toyotomi and the Tokugawa to return to their old fight filled routine when,they were happy fighting for the heck of it[and never killing anybody as well].
2)A Toyotomi Gaiden that let's you play as the Toyotomis against the others in you quest to subdue[not kill] and built a peacefull and prosperous Japan.An ending that is surprisingly happy at the end after it's little..."Hanbei twist".
3)The Tokugawa Gaiden,where you play as Ieyasu and Tadakatsu and you go around making bonds with everyone,teaching them friendship and uniting japan under the Tokugawa's rule.
4)An Oda Gaiden that lets the player play as the Oda and spread militarism around the world...or simply to slaughter everyone?
Depending on the Gaiden you can unlock characters and recruit for your story to play as.The only characters that are common in all four stories are the "mercenary types" : KuroKan,Maggie,Kotaro and Musashi.
Now for the characters :
Date Masamune : Lighting surrounds him along with a blue aura and he becomes closer to a dragon[light blue scales/skin,blueish armour,longer nails,dragonish teeth claws and eye along with his hair becoming a lighter brown and start spiking] along with his other eye beeing functional but human in contrast to his left,which will be a dragon's.He will always be helmet-less with wings sprouting from his back and his ears will be slightly pointy to give him a western dragon feel contrast to Kenshin's eastern dragon feel.
Sanada Yukimura : Yuki will be covered in red tiger fur while obtaining tiger ears,tiger eyes[eye of the tiger :woot: ],fangs and claws.He will emit a red aura with flames.
Oda Nobunaga : Have you seen how Amon looks from Amon : Apocalypse of Devilman?Like that but with Nobu's traits,his wings full time and his armour integrated with his skin.He will emit a jet-black aura and ocassionally jet black sparks will appear.
Fuuma Kotaro : He will be raven themed.His helmet will become a helmet made from the skull of a raven,his eyes will glow yellow and he will sprout wings from his back,his nails will become longer and his feet will become tallons.His armour will change slightly to be metalic.He emits a white/transparent aura that has wind currents circling his figure.
Mouri Motonari : He will be scarab themed.His clothes will become skin armour like the one scarabs have and his hat will be like a small horn.His aura will be golden.
Akechi Mitsuhide : To contrast Nobunaga,Mitsuhide will be based on Onis[japanese demons].He will bulk up so much that his clothes will rip[except for his hakama],his hair will be more wavy,his eyes will be wide open and blood red,his shoulder pads and hand protectors will be replaced by western demonic bones with spikes[the shoulder pdas will be skulls] and finally his skin will become even paller.He will emit a jet-black aura and ocassionally jet black sparks will appear.
Chousokabe Motochika : He is going to be surrounded in a red aura with flames and he will gain the fangs/teeth of a shark along with his hair spiking more to look like a shark's fin.His ears will be more akin to a bats and his hands will become sharp claws.He will gain a white armour that looks like a shark's skin[fin on the back,fin styled bracelets a bluish back].
Maeda Keiji : Keiji has two versions.Your choice :
A)Keiji will become more like a fox[a ninetail fox to be more precise].He will sprout nine tails,he will get fox ears,yellowish/palle-ish skin,fangs and fox eyes while his hair will become pure gold.He emits a white/transparent aura that has wind currents circling his figure.
B)Keiji will bcome more like a lion.He will bulk up a bit,he will gain fangs and nails,his eyes will become like a felines and his hair will be longer and untied while spiking up/puffing up to give the impression of a male lions fur.Also they will become red/brown in colour.He emits a white/transparent aura that has wind currents circling his figure.
Takeda Shingen : Shingen will become an amalgamation beast,a cross between a weretiger and a minotaur.He is going to be surrounded in a red aura with flames.
Uesugi Kenshin : Kenshin will become light bluish/teal coloured,with scales and the mouth/nose of an eastern dragon with the wisker-moustaches and horns.He will gain dragon claws[three fingers] and he will gain a long tail.He will emit a light blueish aura with snowflakes and cold wind swirling around him.
Kasuga : A cow!Her tits will become bigger and she will wear only a bikini :wub: . :woot: ...ok,I'm kidding.Here's how it will be :
She will be cat or panther or lynx themed.Either way the differences will be minimal like the colour of the ears,eyes,fur,tail and hair and the lenght of the nails/claws and teeth/fangs.She will gain fangs,feline eyes and claws/nails along with ears on top of her head[like a catgirl],a tail and fur instead of her armour/clothes.Her hair will grow a bit too.She will emit a golden aura.
Otani Yoshi-tsugu : At first I thought he had a butterfly motif[his mask/helmet] but I believe he is closer to a moth.He won't be that different because insect hair/fur will be covering him and he will gain antenae and wings.Instead of sitting on a...whatever it is he is sitting on he will be flying with his wings and his stature will be like that of a standing man.He will emit a golden aura.
Nou-hime : Nouhime also has two versions to choose.
A)A butterfly transformation.Like Yoshi,she will gain antenae and wings and insect fur.Her fur will be covering her breasts,privates and but area along with the lower hand and leg parts.She will also have a pale green skin and her eyes will become a bit slitted and blue in colour.She is going to be surrounded in a red aura with flames.
B)A Devil Lady transformation of kinds to match Nobunaga.The biggest change will be that she will lose her guns and the other firearms and instead use firebals from her hands,eyes and mouth.She is going to be surrounded in a red aura with flames.
Maeda Toshiie : He will become like a werewolf.A blazing red werewolf.He is going to be surrounded in a red aura with flames.
Matsu : She will become a werewolf too,but a white one,like Shiroumaru.She emits a white/transparent aura that has wind currents circling her figure.
