A funny article that I came across

Funny indeed. Basically a hater making a story about how much he/she hates the new look for Vergil and Dante in DmC. What else is new? At least he/she did it in a very interesting way. lol

He/she has got some valid points actually
I agree with the article when it says that vergil's personality has been downsized

That's kind of an unfair judgement though don't you think? I mean we've only seen about 30 seconds of DmC Vergil, when we have a whole game to judge original Vergil's personality.
In those 30 seconds Vergil has spoken more words than in the whole DMC 3 game
Now that isn't the vergil I was a huge fan of
I dont know about others but I found his silence and short sentences a key part of his character

Fanboy: "Look at what they've done to my favorite characters! I hate this Dante and Hate this Vergil, and so does everyone else!!>_<"

new Dante and new Vergil:

i hate how stiff the look when the hold out there arms makes it look really old school video game when character hand didn't bend im sure the actors did it more natural then mocap picks up you generally have to over exaggerate a bit....anyway why post this to show haters gonna hate......lets get off that please?

I'd just like to critic on how badly out of character Vergil is in that article and how bad the humor is. I'm sorry TheSpoiler, but I rate it P for poor =(

And Dragon lol that picture!

No the comedy was there. I got a good chuckle out of it. But some of the stuff in it was just poor choices of trying to be funny.

The director says I have to be a wuss and make Dante look good. Do my hair stupid, sound stupid, look stupid, just generally be unlikable.

If this new Vergil looks stupid it's pretty much calling the old Vergil stupid too since those are the kind of clothes I would see DMC3 Vergil wear.

“Dante has changed. He used to be all campy and cool, just doing wacky things all the time. Now he just says ‘**** You!’ every moment of every day.”

So he admits old Dante was camp? If anything, old Dante was classic not camp. I call bulls*it because new Dante has said "F*ck you" three times from what we've seen. E3 and the club.

“I guess this is what the new generation wants. What they think is cool. Turning an established character into some sort of walking fad, I mean.”

That's just ignorant. there is no new generation. It's the same old generation but evolved. Also, Punk fashion isn't part of this so-called "new generation" it was back in the 80's but is slowly returning.

Vergil says he warned him, and tried to tell him this may not be for the best. He didn’t want Dante to be stuck in a game where his signature style could be replicated by mashing the same attack button over and over. The guy just wants looks out for his sibling.

I can't say that I found anything all that funny in the article/fan fiction. For one thing it's just the same complaints all over again. For another the writing wasn't that good.

I agree with Chocolateghost, we haven't seen much of the new Vergil to make a good comparison between him and the original. All we know is that the new Vergil is more willing to talk, gives the sense that he's hiding something and is cold in a business-man sense. To really be able to compare them, you'd have to wait until the game is released.

The article was mildly amusing but the person who wrote it obviously hasn't been actually paying enough attention to anything DmC related.

i swear i laughed so hard at the article......
"It's just **** you for three minutes, followed by a weird pause, then another **** you." LMAO

"Ignorance is bliss..."
Yeah, for ignorant people. But for the intelligent, it's ****ing annoying!

thats just it though. Vergil was never a talker. we understood him from his body pattern, when he spoke he meant every word. however here we only see the introduction, we dont know what he's like except he's nice to his long lost twin brother. which the original one was too (in a sense) we dont know how he thinks, his motives or even his goals beyond killing all demons. so you cant jude new vergil on the same measuring stick as the old one as we dont knw anythin about his character.

It's just that... in past DMCs, it was hard to actually see a proper conversation in the games. Dante only said one liners left and right, Vergil never talked, and the bad guy went off on a limb about how he wanted to rule the world and kill people and stuff.

They make this Vergil talk as much as they are making the new Dante talk. It's just a way to give more realism to the game. I gotta say, compared to the original, I don't like what we have been shown of this Vergil very much because (while there are some instances of doubt about his character) they are literally making him look more of a wimp who would not do something if you were to talk back to him. Is that his real character? I'm willing to bet that it isn't, but hey... some people might take it too seriously.
