Perhaps it would be Mass Effect 3? A spin off of Mass Effect series? Or maybe a new IP?
BioWare is set to reveal their next major game at the Video Game Awards next month. The developer’s released an image (high-res here) and teaser clip of the upcoming, unnamed game this morning.![]()
As for what it is, we’re not too sure. We’re hoping it’s Mass Effect 3, but it’s hard to determine from the short glimpse we see in the clip. Perhaps we’re finally able to visit Earth? The landscape shown outside the window in the clip reminds me of a futuristic Earth.
Check out the clip below.

BioWare provides clues to new game
Following today’s teaser clip and single image for BioWare’s new game, the developer’s provided two subtle hints at what it’ll be via their official Twitter account. The clues come in the form of barcodes, each holding a different binary message.
The first barcode translates to 55.845, which is the atomic mass of iron. The second barcode translates to -128.5°F (or -89.1°C).
There are two ways we can put these clues together. The first, as provided by VideoGamer, is to say that: Iron is the most common element on Earth and that -128.5°F is the coldest temperature ever recorded on the planet. Therefore, this game takes place on Earth.
Or.
The second way, as provided by NeoGAF member EatChildren, is to say that: Mass Effect planet Aequitas is known for its Iron Canyons and that Aequitas has a surface temperature of -89°C. Therefore, this is a new Mass Effect game.
So. You’ve seen the trailer. You’ve seen the still. Your thoughts?
