  • Welp, Disney won another Best Animated Oscar...what a suprise. :(

TBH, I hadn't watched most of the nominees so I can't comment.
I'm still mad that "Your Name" wasn't even nominated, talk about a snub.

That's not too surprising considering it wasn't exactly marked a lot in the US for it to get proper attention outside of Japan and the anime community.

Even so, you'd think that a film that's breaking records in the Asian market would at least be nominated. I'd never even heard of some of the other nominees.
From Blackquill to Izzy? I sense a story here...

"Blackquill" came from a video game franchise I was obsessed with but have since fallen out of love with. So I decided to change it up and use a name I was called IRL instead.

You just had to ask the question, didn't you DDutchguy...

...Alright, everybody gather round. Hope you bought a hot drink and some marshmallows with you.

Lol, it's nothing too dramatic. If anyone's seen the English dub of Digimon then you'd know there's a character called "Izzy" in that who's a computer whiz. Quite a few of the people in my class at school were Digimon fans so when our school had the first computer installed and I was the only person good at using it, so I got called "Izzy" and the name stuck. :p
So hyped for Season 5 of Samurai Jack that I'm tempted to buy the "Tales of the Wandering Warrior" Samurai Jack compendium comic book. <3
Idk what your avatar is but, it is awesome! That is all for now.
"Don't cry, Al. Soon there'll be an even bigger war with even cooler mobile suits!" I HATED that bit, especially when it happened right after Chris says goodbye. There are very few things that warp my emotions quite like War in the Pocket. It's not as emotionally-crippling as Berserk, but it comes DAMN close.

If you're still interested in short Gundam series, then I'd recommend "Gundam Thunderbolt". The first season is only 4 episodes long, but it's very good. If a little depressing as well.
    Here's the trailer for season 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6jTb2FQ_ow

I'll watch Thunderbolt, Unicorn, & Iron-Blooded Orphans once I clear the some of the older stuff. The OG trilogy, Zeta, The Origin, 0083, and 8th MS Team...I have a lot of catching up to do.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars, I find the process of how it came to be endlessly fascinating. Flash Gordon, Samurai and more.

I dunno man, I just can't see the similarities myself. According to the director, the original series borrows heavily from Starship Troopers.

Just this whole speel of these enemy soldiers roving into a planet (or colony) in search of the plans for this superweapon, led by this masked enforcer, whose pursuit is thwarted by a young boy whose motivation to fight stems from witnessing his family members being taken by the conflict. It just...I've already SEEN A New Hope. And given how close they are in release, I can't write it off as some kind of coincidence.

Those are some pretty loose similarities man, especially since that's only the first couple of episodes of Gundam. Like I thought you were going to bring up the whole "Char Aznable is nothing but a Vader clone!" and "Newtypes are ripping off The Force!" arguments.
Aha, I'm not the only one who picked a terrible time of year to be born. XD Happy belated birthday! Did you get cake?

Heh, indeed there's even a certain irony to being born on the holy twelfth night but I digress. Thanks anyway and yes, I did get to eat some cake. :)
    Happy Birthday!

The fact that somebody cares enough to say "Happy Birthday" to me warrants a "Thank You" in my book. :)
Seriously, more people said it to me on this forum than in real life.

If there's ever a DmC2 I really want Dante to be working in a Detective Agency. It would be a great way to start the game.

What gave me the idea was Raidou Kuzunoha the hero and "trainee detective" from the Devil Summoner games. In public he's just the student in a Detective Agency but in reality he tackles any cases that involve demons.

It'd be great if they brought back the Enemy Files from DMC1 that revealed alternative ways to defeat enemies. I always liked the idea of Dante professionally taking note of enemy weaknesses and have them filed back at his office. Very Demon Hunter in terms of mentality.

dante the field guy, kat the thinker, phineas the Q.. i would assume it'll be somewhat post-apocalyptic world if there's a sequel.. now how to work a detective type char in that setting
So I was surfing the net and I found a cool tweet from illustrator of the DMC first novel from earlier this year featuring Dante naturally.
