Yup! I found absolutely cooler, the dark atmosphere and how Dante got his guns etc. Vergil was a welcome sight as well.

As for the second novel, yeah. It's a bit of a mind-blows-up story, but at least DMC2 Dante has the normal Dante character in there, and not the I-forgot-how-to-talk attitude he had in DMC2. You'll like it I think

Yeah, I also liked the guns' story, and the scene in which Tony finally revealed itself as Dante was SO FRIKIN' EPIC!

I think I'm going to read the 1st chapter of the 1st phrase from the second novel this night, the first novel really sucked me in, I've finished it within 2 days, reading 100 pages per day lol, and I believe the second one will suck me in as well.

It's a shame Tokyopop didn't translate the Devil May Cry 4: Deadly Fortune 1-2 novels as well, I really want to read them after reading the summary _CaT_ made and published at Devils-Lair.org.

Btw, are those 2 novels canon?

The 2 first novels WERE cannon, until DMC3 was published. So now they aren't

Can't you put the 1st one before DMC3 (storywise), and just throw out the epilogue? I mean, Vergil DID mention they've met a yeat BEFORE the events of DMC3 took place, it is very likely to be a reference to the novel (or to the manga based on DMC3 which I have yet to read).

Not really, because Gilver was already a servant of Mundus, and Vergil in DMC3 wasn't a servant. Plus in the novel, Dante I think uses the Force Edge - he calls it Woogy or something, doesn't he?

The 2nd novel would actually be ok storyline wise, as in fact very few info can show us WHERE DMC2 is in DMC storyline. So if the DMC2 novel happened a bit before or a bit after DMC2, it shouldn't affect things. However it is not canon according to Capcom. Go figure..

And even though it wasn't said clearly that Gilver was a servant of Mundus, it was hinted quite a lot, so you're right again.

Oh well, at least it has been approved and supervised by Capcom (and by the original DMC creator), that's still a something, right?

Well yeah, in every game "Dante" is a bit different, but in that novel and the first DMC he is the original, by Hideki Kamiya, so he definitely is my personally favorite. XD
The DMC2 Dante barely talks - though he seems more mature and cool I'll admit.
DMC3 Dante is a fun-loving kid with a good heart, and more of a poser than cool.
And DMC4 Dante is the DMC3 one grown up

DMC1 Dante is cool beyond them (imo), more serious than 4 and 3, more level-headed, deep and awesome. But maybe I'm prejudiced cause he's my favorite

Well, I'm not sure about my favorite, it isn't DMC2 Dante, but I can't decide among DMC1 Dante, DMC3 Dante & DMC4 Dante, they are all awesome in their own ways imo

And let's not even start talking about DmC Dante, I HATE this reboot. Even though the game looks kinda nice, it doesn't look like a Devil May Cry game, but more of a different game combining elements from Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Enslaved, Heavenly Sword, God of War, some movies & some other games. Imo the title (DmC: Devil May Cry) was given just as a cash-in, which is really annoying.

Now that you mentioned God of War, I hope we won't be seeing 'Dante' riding huge monsters which he then kills mercilessly. It's kinda everywhere now..

Yeah, it is. It was actually quite bad ass the first few times I've seen it, but it's being overused just WAYYYY too much nowaday.

Btw, have you ever played Bayonetta?
I've only played the demo so far lol, I'm trying to find a chip PAL copy, which is a pretty hard task nowaday. I'm going to get the X360 version as I don't have a PS3 but an X360 plus I've heard that the X360 is superior to the PS3 version.

Yeah and I love it. Too bad I haven't got my PS3 were I'm now, but if everything goes well, I might play it again somedayXD

From what I know this game is very much like DMC and has quite a bit of hidden DMC references in it, which is really awesome imo.

So, I've found a 30$ PAL version (Brand New condition) of Bayonetta, I might order it by this Sunday, alongside one other game.

I'm thinking of buying Spider-Man: Edge of Time, as I would really love to play it, yet I would also love to get Spider-Man: Web of Shadows as it is another Spider-Man game I don't own and never finished. I played both games with a friend's computer/X360 and really liked both.

Bayonetta rocks, while playing it I completely had the DMC1 feeling, tough awesome enemies, not worthless guys like DMC2 or cheaters like DMC3 (they became invincible, made copies of them etcXD) just being powerfulXD The puzzles are also tough and require skill, not only cunning.

If you already have the original MvsSF3 I would advise getting Spider-man Web of Shadows. Who knows how much more money capcom wishes to take from us be re-releasing SF4 and MvSF3 with new stuff every 2nd day of the week
