Coincidentially, my fav is 3. DMC4 just lost the 'oomph' and 2 is just... I don't have it. :/

I don't like 3 because of Dante's new personality and the fact that the weapons lack depth and the enemies and bosses are too gimmicky. I.E. "Do this exactly right to kill this type of enemy".

I like 3 because the combat is FAST, so you need to do what you do, plus FAST.
DMC4 is nice because Dance Macabre's new style, Dreadnaught and Nero. Oh Nero. Charged shot, Buster, and Helm Splitter. Oh yeah. But I still prefer Dante though.
Anyway, I only liked DMC1 because of Alastor.

I loved DMC1 because of how gothic and trendsetting it was, not to mention it had the best fights in the series.
I do not like DMC3's fastness. It makes normal fights just unsatisfying. "Oh look, I pwned them in ten seconds. Yawn. Might as well give me a one hit kill weapon."

True. I think more of a game's normal modes.

At least the Lust, Vanguard, and Pride have more moves.

Pride can only slash, the Lust always uses its dash slash and never actually uses the scythe normally. Vanguard is annoying, especially if there's more than one.

Pride jumps in DMD, Lust has the rush uppercut slash(along with the normal rush), and Vanguard teleport rushes horizontally more often.
