Tonks: They're critical to your development. Otherwise you'll just be an angry, violent person who is still attached to the force they're opposing.
I must say, I do like these dragon hugs. I wish we had more time to talk, though. :/
DT: Sometimes, the greatest things are accomplished through pain. The only way to show you that what you're doing is wrong is do something so horrible to you that you snap, thus totally inverting your way of thinking.
DT: HOWEVER! After said snap, it is often, if not always, irrevocably impossible to "repair" the person, thus, they will stick with their choice for life unless jarred in a way that it overcomes the first snap.
