Recommend me a beautiful game

Not just any game - I'm looking for games that feature beautiful architecture. Devil May Cry has it's fair share of astonishing locations (see here or here). Other games that come to mind would be Castlevania series (SotN, CoD or LoS2). I'm especially interested in the mix of gothic and modern, but any interesting architecture will be appreciated.
Cheers :)

Edit - games mentioned so far:
Devil May Cry, Castlevania, Bloodborne, Pandora's Tower, The Last Story, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Ico, Remember Me, Gravity Rash, Republique, Chaos Legion, Killer is Dead, Shadow Warrior, Prince of Persia (2008), El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, Last Guardian, Souls series, Final Fantasy series

If architecture is what you want, I highly recommend Pandora's Tower on the Wii. In that game, the architecture is pretty much the star of the game, what with the emphasis placed on platforming. Even on the Wii's fuzzy video output, the art direction of these levels look really good.

The Wii also houses the visual splendor that is The Last Story, which also boasts some fine architecture of its own when it comes to the later portions of the game.

In terms of modern architecture, and this is really a seg-way into more cyberpunk than Gothic, is the Renaissance-meets-future look of Deus Ex, particularly with Mankind Divided. As its name would imply, opinions on the game are quite....polarizing, but not a single review or staunchily-negative voice on the matter can deny some of the visual mastery of this game's art direction.

Hope you saw something you like up there. I do agree with you wholeheartedly regarding the architectural majesty of DMC1, too. I still regard that game as boasting the best level design in the series. You can see a lot of the Renaissance and Gothic influence in the concept art of that game.

Final Fantasy games have pretty gorgeous architecture. Ico, Bloodborne, Remember Me, parts of Chaos Legion, Gravity Rush, and Republique.

Hmm, aside from the ones already mentioned, the only others I can think of are...

Prince of Persia (2008) - A lot of cool middle eastern style architecture that you traverse.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. - A game where you have to track down and purify fallen angels and stop them from interfering with humanity. A very surreal game, but fun nonetheless. Not as much architechture in this one, but still very beautiful.

Bloodborne is excellently Gothic, its whether or not the combat is your cup of boots.

Oh yes, I forgot to include Bloodborne, because I haven't played it (don't have ps4) - but the game looks absolutely gorgeous (even more so than the Souls series, which also has amazing design).

If architecture is what you want, I highly recommend Pandora's Tower on the Wii.

I haven't heard of this game, but it does look beautiful. I'll certainly give it a try.

Which FF would you suggest? Chaos Legion caught my attention, when I've been doing Spectacle Fighters Ranking Poll - but the thing that actually put me off was bland and grey environments... Care to share some screens that would change my mind? ;)

Hmm, my girlfriend loves 2008 Prince of Persia, maybe I'll give it a try. As for Ascension of the Metatron - the game looks very interesting, I've wanted to play it for quite some time.

-Killer is dead

Huh, it looks better than I thought. Must have blended with No More Heroes in my mind

I reccomand it to you for cartoon-graphic, that in my opinion is too beautiful.
There would be also Nier:Automata ,that is already released for PS4 some day ago and for PC will be released in 17th march.

If I'm not mistaken it was the first game the director of the original FF games made after he left Square.

Which FF would you suggest?
12 had some good designs, though divided by large desolate areas. 13 has some gorgeous sections, but they are also scattered about and not a lot in the first half of the game, you have to wait till you get to Pulse to see the best the game has to offer. There is a secret dungeon in XV that is pretty genius in terms of architectural design.

Care to share some screens that would change my mind?
Chaos Legion isn't filled with great backgrounds, it just has a few that are great. It's a pretty minimalist game, so there is stuff, just not that much. Definitely not worth playing the whole game just to get to some pretty towers.

If it has to be gothic architecture... I don't got much. :(

After skimming through my Steam and GOG libraries, here are some noteworthy games with striking location designs:

- Alien Isolation
- Layers of Fear (although, not a game I would recommend)
- Braid
- Mirror's Edge

... And that's all I've got...?

Edit: Oh and Yoshi's Woolly World is mighty purdy.

Alice Madness Returns. I love it's aesthetic, the enemies and the outfits. Oh, and the OST. Well, I love the game 100% okay.

I'm a fan of this game too :) Have you played the first one? It's more disturbing, I think, thanks to the creepy early 3D graphics and the OST, which is in my opinion even better (composed by Chris Vrenna. Oh, and Marilyn Manson was involved in the creation of the game).

Yeah, my PS3 copy of Alice Madness Returns came with a code with American McGee Alice. I really like it BUT sadly I got stuck and I haven't touch it since then. But the main theme is beautiful and I love it, and the humor of Alice and Cheshire is on point.

I remember when the game came out it had a midnight release at my local store so I was kind of excited to talk to other people about it, hopefully they'd know more about it than me, but when I got there I found out that the midnight release was for Duke Nukem, they were just releasing Alice because they were coming out the same day anyway. Well, it turns out I was the only one who was actually there for Alice, which was pretty disappointing, actually, but now, when think back on it I realized that out of all the people there that evening I'm the only one who didn't return the copy of the game they bought that night. I've yet to talk to another person who's played the game face to face so that night is still one of disappointment, but all in all, there is that one glimmer of solace.
