I don't know If you are aware of the time-line of Final Fantasy VII...
Before Crisis (A few after the Wutai War) -> Crisis Core (7 Years Before FF7) -> Final Fantasy VII -> (3 years after FF7) Advent Children -> (4 years after FF7) Dirge of Cerberus
Genesis is in Crisis Core and appears to be an evil guy turning good in the end. His powers are equal to Sephiroth in Dirge of Cerberus, because his degradation has gone.

I don't have a PSP either, but I played It with a friend's one.
Crisis Core is set 7 years prior to the original FF VII events. Dirge of Cerberus is set 3 years after It and a year after Advent Children.
I prefer 3:SE... Why?
Played all Tekken games and as my favorites, I'd choose Tekken 3 and Tag Tournament.
As for Final Fantasy, I'd say VII and Crisis Core.
Favorite characters in Tekken?! I have A LOT. :lol:
As for FF, Genesis, Sephiroth and Vincent.
