I prefer to think that he just looks stupid because he is... well, too lazy to think, and the whole "meathead goofball" schtick is likely fun for him as well. But yeah, I wouldn't peg him a genius. Vergil was one for complex plans... although I have to ask how much of his plans were due to Arkham.
Graphical fidelity is a tool to express art. It is literally irrelevant on its own.
So I really don't get why people focus on it so much. Many of the best looking games I had seen had come out before 2010.
And I have to agree - Credo was one of best boss fights not just in DMC4, but in any game I had ever played. It is just responsive in a way most boss fights are not.
