I think what Devil May Cry tries to tell us is that it doesn't exactly matter what you are. Sparda and Trish choose to fight against demons, who are naturally evil. The whole story is based upon choice. And choice always effects outcome. Nobody is perfect within the series, but it's the choices they make that define them.
Started replaying DMC4 to see how DmC matches up to it. I'm lowering my expectations for the game. Lets just hope it's as difficult as DMC4.
