I can think of Nero's mother being Vergil's partner and traveled with him for some time before DMC3 if you want a believable relationship. So that would mean she wasn't living in Fortuna in first place, and this needs a reason why Vergil "dumped" her at Fortuna... Mmmm this is too much work nah...
