Kat uses magic to support her allies. Lady uses guns to make things she doesn't like die. Kat is sweet, shy and caring. Lady is a greedy, aggressive tsundere. the only things they have in common are vaugly similar backstories. both can exist in the same universe without any redundancy. the viability of Kat's abilities is not in any way affected by the number of fighters and she isn't really supposed to be Dante's love interest ( although she could become one and competition would make that more interesting) in fact i think both should exist in both universes.

Lady is just a different type of female character.

Personally I'm tired of weak,unimportant and shallow female characters. Lady just brought something new.

That's the difference,her backstory made her the way she is,she doesn't put much trust in people so easily as Kat and that's why she's so aggresive,but I've seen her aggresive only at first,especially towards her object of hatred: the demons.But she toned down that temper once she came to know Dante and that he wasn't against her or the humanity.

But I also like Kat,she's fine for the universe she's in. (DmC) Though I'd like her character to develop more.

And please,let's not involve love interests in DMC/DmC.Not all friendships need to transform into love and we wouldn't want it to become some sickly sweet romance. But if it happens,I just hope it won't be too forced or exagerrated and take away the focus from the story.

think about it. kat and lady are very much alike and are even modeled similarly. and if a demon kicking bad ass is introduced (mind you trish han't even shown up yet) comes into the mix, wouldn't kat be rendered useless both as a partner and potential love interest?

I wouldn't mind seeing Lady. If they kept her out it'd suck, much like if they kept out Trish or something.

Still Dante and Kat are friends, just friends. They don't stand a chance at ever having a thing, because Dante's a Nephilim and would probably live longer than Kat. So screw them ever hooking up and having Kitty and Dante junior, or living a widdle house with a dog called Max. The ship would sail, but will sink and Dante will be alone and-

i'm not saying that. i'm saying that we can't successfully introduce a character like lady into the new universe and do her character justice, without giving kat a big bag of "**** you". i love lady. but i don't see her fitting well into the new universe now that we already have kat. no where did i say that we shouldn't introduce characters like trish and lucia

we already have a human devil hunter in the mix. trish and lucia are demons. not only that but they can be written in a way so that they can be more like sister to dante than having a strange sexual tension between lady and dante. i feel more of a love vibe between kat and dante and not just a sex vibe like i do dante and lady

I would say introduce her to DmC 2. That is what I am doing. The only difference being is that she tries to use Dante to get at her father but realises her mistake. I am having her as the first boss of the game for Dante. I could add a bit more to her character. Also I am working more on Kat and The New Order.

Im more with darkslayer13 as I dont really see Kat and Lady as that similar as their similarities are things they share with the other heroines/primary female leads. Plus you run into the same problems if you bring in any other humans who fights demons.

We do need other characters who can show how humans can fight on their own because Dante cant be everywhere or save everyone (plus it would be a good show of faith if he did teach the public/governments how to fight on their own).

Besides one person can not be a good representative of a entire culture. Kats only one person whose lived one kind of life.

And Kat cant really fight in the field or defend herself so we do need other combatants. And as darkslayer13 pointed out, competition between kat and lady could bring out some interesting character development for both.

I think Kat has already filled the role of Lady so there's no real need to add her. Trish of course is one that definitely needs to be added.
