Well in the action category (GOTY will probably go to Last of Us IMO).

I say so because well critics loved the crap out of it and it was critically acclaimed and well I'm not so sure in the overall action category but its real competition this year or basically any noteworthy games in the same genre of DmC were GoW:A, MGR, NG3:RE, and etc but out of them all DmC was the most positively received out of any hack and slash/action games this year.

No because I'm not so sure since sites I got to consider games like Tomb Raider and Last of Us action games. I'm so sure how the GOTY runs things or how they structure the sections so is it by actual genre or are action games more well anything where sh*t goes boom?

I also say no because DmC came out at the beginning of the year so by the end of the year many people could've brushed it under the rug with a more current game that is enjoyable.

What do you guys think?

[And I hope The Last Of Us does well too. Damn movie plot and with that ending :'( ]

GTA V will be the GOTY. I'm calling it now.

I don't think Last of Us will technically compete against DmC. It would go up more against games like GoW Acension, MGR, and Killer is Dead.

If Killer is Dead isn't that great then DmC takes it.

I have a feeling Killer is Dead is gonna be another really cool idea but, the gameplay will not be up to par and probably disappoint like it usually does when we talk about Suda here.

wondering who voted yes lol.

Just curious since all the other comments seem to agree that it will not win or has a good chance of not winning if certain games are in the category.

Well, none of us know how it's gonna be categorized really so I'm just taking a guess. Action Adventure is a very broad term that can count for a lot of things and also you wouldn't be wrong to refer to The Last of Us as a survival horror which it also kinda is.

What we gonna do?

If it's fans voting, no. Not unless there's a miracle and everyone decides to give it a chance. If it's someone that's not biased, then there's more of a possibility.

no. i'm pretty sure if anything a goty title is the last of us or dead space 3. DmC has way too much controversy surrounding it. that and (in my opinion) there weren't that many games that i found goty material. you could say metal gear but i usually feel more invested in metal gear games where as this one was just another typical hack n' slash to me. god of war might get goty because people endlessly ride the series like a dildo( which i don't know why it feels like a copy and paste of DMC, but thats just my opinion).
