hmm seeing as hell has more then one king

Mundus, one of them, was defeated and there's ore than one yes? so who's to say we won't see the return of past DMC demons like argosax, more specifically embodiment dispair. Or that other demon from DMC2 with the two wolves, personally one of my favorite sub bosses. Also phantom, DMC1, was once a demon general so he could fit in the new game as well.

which bosses, or sub bosses, would you like to see reuturn that would make sense and/or add to the story?


p.s frosts don't count everyone wants the DMC1 variants back
 
If Mundus is just 1 of other demon kings, just thought, but why was he the one sent to rule the humans? Did they just draw straws and biggest straw won?:lol:

Back on topic. I'd like to see Nevan upgraded to a demon queen. Nevan's reason could be that she was a former lover of Mundus out for revenge, or she just sees the chance to take power in the human world while it's all in chaos.

Or maybe Griffon to return, but I'm not sure how. He was just a cool boss.

also gotta remember vergil said "cruelest" demon to rise... who's to say there aren't demons with honor? Since there was a king then there must also be a sort of system just in case the king died as for who to take over. Otherwise let welcome chaos there may well be alot of anarchy becuase of mundus' death
 
As Mundus got to be king by being cruel and doing whatever he needed to take power, I don't know if the demon world knows about democracy and that sort of system. I always figured it to be a brutal and violent place where only strength and viciousness counted to prove leadership. And then the king is backed up by 'blood brothers' that are only with him to get a slice of the power, but if the king shows weakness, they are deposed by a younger and stronger demon willing to kill the old king.
Maybe a demon king replacement is decided by some sort of killing championship? Like all who want to be king can join and the one who is alive at the end is king? :/ Or maybe they do have a vote....who knows....

The way Vergil was saying Mundus rose up 9,000 years ago, I assumed the rise up was to do with taking out the previous king, that kind of rise to power.Beating evvery demon down until he got to the top. I didn't give consideration to there being other kings because of how Mundus is. He's in charge of the humans, he's got a God complex, and who wouldn't in his position, so I didn't think there would be others of equal rank to him.
I just don't see Mundus as being able to share power with other hell kings. I would have thought he'd wipe them out considering he thinks he's a god.
Plus, my idea of hell probably shaped the notion of one hell ruler idea.

Unless it is like Dante's unferno where hell is divided into circles and each circle has a king. :/
 
I figured that Mundus killed anyone vying for lordship, and that's why he's been the Demon King for over nine thousand years :/

He's supposed to be the supreme ruler of the demons, and there was never any mention of others :x

Oh, wait, I got your question wrong:lol: Yes I agree with you, I thought Mundus was the king of hell and no other kings. Like you said, he;d kill off anyone competing with him for power.
 
Back in DMC1 and 2 it was mentioned that there were other demons who ruled over other smaller parts of hell. Mundus was always looked up to as the supreme leader in a way and he looks at the other demon lords as still under him but still very valuable assets so long they don't oppose him. I'm pretty sure Mundus would take whatever he wanted but felt he didn't need to because if he were to wish it then it would be his anyways.

In DmC however I'm not sure. It seems like he is the only ruler right now, or at least was until he died but I still have a hard time believing he was actually killed and so easily.

I get the feeling his real demon body was in storage in hell. So his soul was in Kyle Ryder's body just to manifest himself in the human world.
Then the the hell gate is tampered with and Mundus' soul is locked inside Kyle Ryder's body and forced to be there with no escape becaus he's cut off from hell.
But I don't think he's gone. What if his soul or essence is still out there after Ryder's body was destroyed? Just floating around and waiting for another host body maybe?

You just said exactly what I was thinking but didn't bother to say. Exactly. His real body was definitely not there for that fight and he just used whatever he could with what demonic powers he had left after the portal to hell was closed to put together something.

I saw in the Mundus concept art lots of images of him as a giant slug/octopus tentacle demon. I wonder if that was going to be his true form originally for the final fight?
But what they went with was Mundus' soul inside Kyle Ryder's body and that was inside armour made of cars and buildings.
He's got to be floating around somewhere. He can't just die like that....

Actually, his glowy Kyle Ryder body in the final fight reminded me of this from Bioshock. They have the same naked kind of glowy body:lol:

I always figured there were other strong demons around but they just didnt care for controlling the earth. But in all truth i want angels involved in some way shape or form so we can actually have angel weapons come from angels and explain and explore more of Dantes angel powers.
 
I don't think that in this continuity there were any other demon kings in the past, but I do know that it is likely that, with Mundus gone, there will be many demons who would attempt to take over his place and rise as the new demon king.

I really don't think Mundus is a demon who would share power. He'd be taking those other kings down one by one until only he was alive.

Unless they are lesser kings, and he's the ultimate one or something? Or I'll go back to my other train of though that hell is divded into circles and each king rules one.

That has thrown me a little, seeing as Vergil made it sound like there was only one king when he was explaining to Dante that Mundus was the worst of them all during his rise to power.
 
Mundus and Sparda was the only ones who are confirmed to be demon kings.

The other two might be Argosax the chaos or Abigail.

Makes sense.
